Actually, the sctosman looks like a similar size to the NZR loco when compared to an R (in the photos I've seen, anyway). Well, it looks small, thats for sure!

I could be wrong but from photos of the A3 with an R class I would say that the A3 boiler in this screenie is too skinny.
