a Day Of greivance on the Iron Mountain

LVman

Your Everyday ALCOholic
This is a beginning of a short series i will be doing on my route i am constructing.

Several screens and story lines will follow.
Feel free to post comments/suggestions to the route, as it is faaaaaaaaar from done.

The Single C-424 that suffered a crank Failure can be seen on the caboose track, as that is where it sits for now.
Just as any old route in modern days, a Foreign EMD unit invades on very strong ALCo territory.
these new EMD units are on loan to the iron Mountain, and it's looking like the tides may change in the near future.

ALCos are hard locomotives to come by these days, i have been told by the Iron Mountain's locomotive superintentdent. Parts are even worse.
The few ALCos that the Road owns are looking at a soon doomed future.

One has already been retired, and is happly enjoying it's retirement in a park.

The First Locomotive to be scrapped, will be the older PRR C-425's, as the two newest ALCo's, the Conrail C-424, and the EL C-425 will be kept. The PRR units will be dissasembled for any usable parts, then sold to any junk-yard that wants them. They are the first to go because one suffered a heavy Crank-shaft Failure, and the other, well, lets just say it had a bad day and went into the river, over a collapsed bridge.
Its a beginning to a sad ending.....
Until next time,
Sean

Nice shots. To make your shots clearer use ALT Y for walk and ALT U for flying in 06 or ALT Walk or ALT fly for 04. Doing this will make the spline points disappear for taking a clean screenshot.

or take the screenies in driver.

This sounds interesting, though the mass of spline points ruins it imho.

Is the swing set a spline? Loads of spline points their which will hamper FPS. Rulers also affect FPS, even though they aren't seen in driver mode.

Good luck with the layout, does look good so far.

That Alco needs to be somewhere it can be looked after, not in a park. :p

I'll take it, I've got an old loco shed I can store it in on my route.

well, then if you would like the locomotive, you must supply one for its spot, for the town of Iron Mountain owns it. They are looking to restoration, but who knows.
pics and stories will come soon.

I liked the story line!

Sean,

It was nice having a story line to go with the screenies. I'd like to see more people do that. Thanks for taking the time to write it!

Excellent work Sean. You've made great improvements on your use of vegetation and your detail level is high as always. Again excellent work!

no thank you.
I recieved a phonecall from the City of iron Mountain Col, sorry they aren't interested in selling the display locomotive.

News Flash!
Its been said by the iron Mountain railway that it is offical.
EMD will be the new source of power for the railway. Unfortunately, they have never had their own locomotive painted with their own signautre of the iron Mountain, and if anybody is willing to take up that job, they will be greatly thanked by the Iron Mountain Railway.

All alcos that remain on the line as of now, will sit there, until morew power along the lines of large SD's and smaller GP units arrive.
Thankyou for your cooperation,
The Iron Mountain Railway BOD.

PS:
If you are interested in taking the contract of decorationg the IRON MOUNTAIN's locomotives, please contact me at: my E-mail which should be in my profile. thank you.

what the C-424s?
are you sure?
one has a heavly failed crankshaft, 6 blown rods, wrecked traction motors, on one piston, a cylinder explosion took away the headersm and valves.
The other, had a bad day and ended up into s stream, completely wrecking the whole front end. i mean to the point where it took such a hard hit, that the ACTUAL prime mover, is where the cab shood be.
If you want them, take them, but you must move them your-self, for i was told that Iron Mountain Railways are not paying for the removal.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Sean
