A Class

What a clas?? Do you know how many a classes there are in the world??
If you mean V/Line no, only I and another member have it

Or do you mean Gresley A Class steam locomotives of Britain, for example The Flying Scotsman, The Mallard and so on...

OP's location is set to Australia

That means that without any other qualifier, he/she is almost certainly looking for an australian locomotive.

Western Australia had an 'A class' that was a Mogul (2-6-0) layout, as shown here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Western_Australian_locomotive_classes

However, given that OP's location is given as 'Victoria, Australia', I would hypothesize that the OP is specifically asking about Victoria Rail A class..

It still gets a little confusing though, as Victoria Rail had two Steam 'A Class' and then a diesel-electric 'A Class' (see; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V/Line_A_class )

There may be some I don't know about, but Obo's catalog doesn't list any of those A class locomotives as being available:

http://trainz.banal.net/catalog/pages/Australia-Steam.html

And

http://trainz.banal.net/catalog/pages/Australia-Diesel.html

However, I'm fairly sure I've seen some very similar looking double-cab bulldog-nose australian locomotives, and at a push one of them could probably be reskinned and re-engined to get something very close. (Wiki reports the A class as using an EMD 12-645 engine, there will surely be some existing locos that use an almost identical engine - maybe a GP39 or CIE 001 is around somewhere.

Hi Nikki And Everybody.
great detective work there Nikki. I am sure the Metropolitan police serious crime unit would offer you a senior position tomorrow if they thought they could afford you.

I am sure you will quote back at us that it is " Elementary My Dear Watson" but seriously that is a great post showing great knowledge of a non-British railroad system that few could match.

Thanks and all the best Nikky

Hello Nikkia,

When the post first appeared, his location Austrailia didn't exist, we didn't know where he was from, that is why there are so many posts from all around the world, asking what locomotive he was after, hope this clears things up as to why we all had trouble understanding what he was after.

I assumed by the way he posted, quickly, without any background, he must have been younger ( my age)

Then I guessed modern from the V/Line loco his avatar is

Modern + Young = Most likely diesel
