hello to all:

first let me explaine this, as I was driving on rt 1 in delaware just past the cd canal there are a big gas and oil industries area in delaware city as I looked east I saw 2 bnsf engines c44-9w parked on a sideing with its' tankers. tankers I have not seen or heard of they must of come from the mid west or some place waiting for the ns to load up on oil and/or gas. I see this all the time with ns and csx . this is the first time I saw a 2bnsf engines carrying its' tankers travelling all the way to these oil and gas industries to fill up and take off. why would they come all the way to the mid atlantic states to delaware to fill up its' tankers and then take off again in the late afternoon? and I was at the rail crossing and saw the bnsf engines and the tankers heading north back where it came from. its a puzzle to me. most of the time we get csx and ns lines through there not bnsf.

some one explain this to me please if you can

run through traffic, it happens all the time on the CSX ex P&LE line here in Pittsburgh, you really never know what you are going to get, ive saw BNSF, B&PRR, UP, CN.... but i also think it may depend on the signals the railroad uses.
at least thats what i think it is, i may be wrong. I'm not an expert

Pretty much all of it stems relates to the loaded crude oil trains coming from and going to the Bakken oil fields. We've been seeing this power here in the Philly area beginning around the end of March/early April. Delaware City is one of the major offloading destinations for these trains as is the Eagle Point refinery in South Jersey. There are three other facilities, one in South Jersey and two large ones south of Philly that are due to open within the next year or two, so there should be a lot more traffic showing up soon.

You won't just see BNSF pumpkins; warbonnets and KCS units lately too. I think there are even a few other road's units making the occasional appearance too.

FYI, there have been some pretty active discussions in the Yahoo Group CSXtracksideeastSEtoBA within the last few weeks about the logistics, not to mention sightings and head's-up about trains on the move.
