Today it's nine years that I signed up with this forum and I enjoyed most of my visites very much. :)

I wasn't very active lately but I still use my TRS2010 and build step by step on my Albula layout. But Winter is comming and then there will be more time again.

So thanks to Auran for surviving and continue to develope this great simulator and thanks very much to all the great content creators that make this game a phantastic wast of time

I'm looking foreward to the next 9 years.

I agree :D. I (well, my brother and I) got my first copy of Trainz, the original one, many many years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if it is close to 9 years. At that time, a new game for the computer was like Christmas and birthday at the same time. We would be fighting over the manual, reading every detail until we had a computer we could play on. I remember we were at our grandparents' farm when we first got to try it, our mother had to install it on her work laptop, cause we had nowhere near enough patience to wait until we got home :hehe: . Obviously, Trainz was slideshow on that computer. We still sat for a long time playing around. We later got home and installed it on our desktop pc, and had lots of fun with it for many years.

I used original Trainz in periods right up to last year, when I finally figured "why not buy a newer version?", so I got 09, and this year I got 10. I don't regret that for a second.

Childhood memories :hehe: .

For me, it started when I was playing RT2. My friend told me he had a train game where you could have as many carriages and engines as you wanted on one train. I went to his house and checked it out. About a year later, I was in a shop and saw TC3. On the box it mentioned the 8F and the A3. They are my favourite locos. I bought it for $30 and loved it the first time I installed it. The first thing I learned to do was take control of an AI train! Then I got Trainz Collection, and finally TC 1&2. Another friend of mine had the game and knew how to register it, and I did, first registering TRS2006. Then I registered the rest. Thanks to my friends, I would not have written this now.

I have almost all of the Trainz programs from the very first version to TS2010. I tried other train simulators such as MSTS, RailWorks, and BVE, and Trainz is the best one for creating routes. I was able to create the entire NYC subway system in Trainz. While Trainz is Auran's primary program, I think that Auran should create a driving/racing simulator with world editor, maybe a flight simulator and boat/ship simulator. Maybe a simulator for all modes of transportation.

Has it really been that long,

Wow how time flies, it seems like yesterday when Trainz was first introduced, I wasn't fond of the new Trainz, I didn't even register it and I ended up giving it away, as I had MSTS at the time, which I was trying to get my head around and Transport Tycoon.

For me Trainz took off in 2004, that was when they released the best version out of all of the early ones, for me Trainz 2004 was the start of great things, I kept my head down on the forum at that time, and only visited once in a while, but not as often as I do now.

It's amazing over time how Trainz has grown, and also how it has spread around the world, to think the origional Trainz was the foundation of the new Trainz 2010, and Trainz has got better and better each time with age.

I would like to thank the Auran team for their dedication, hard work, time and help over the last 9 years, it has been very much appreciated, and may Trainz improve further in the future.

I would also like to thank my fellow forum friends for their continued help and advice, without you guys, i'd still be playing Transport Tycoon.

This past September, I started my ninth year in Trainz. I can’t think of any other pastime that I’ve enjoyed more than the Trainz hobby.

I spent most of my adult life building model railroads. I’ve dabbled in radio controlled model airplanes, photography, computers and more, but Trainz tops the list for me.

Thanks to Auran for creating such a wonderful hobby. My hat is off to them for enduring their financial problems, and the unfair criticism that they receive from time to time in this Forum.

I don’t post very often, but I have followed the Forum just about every day since getting into Trainz. I’m very appreciative of those members who have answered thousands of questions including my own in this Forum.

And finally, I would like to thank all of the content creators who have unselfishly offered their creations to this hobby.

It amazes me how folks from all over the globe have contributed to make Trainz as successful as it is.

Again, thanks to everyone,

Joe

Ah so many years, so many editions. Remember the original community edition, how crude :o but with so much potential. SP2 made it better, leading up to UTC. Seems like Auran rewrote the dictionary as "Ultimate" is described as "final, beyond further ammendment". :hehe: So we got Trainz2004 - beyond ultimate. I was reluctant at first but I think it was a huge step forward and I embraced it eventually, doing lots of my best routes in it. I skipped 2006, loved the syncro-steam in TC3 and converted my 2004 stuff into 2009. Not yet tried 2010, still happy with 09. And still happy with Trainz, despite adverse events, after almost 10 years. I never get bored with it, can always find something new to try, thanks to all those clever and generous content creators out there. I remember the only content we had was that supplied with the original package. That wouldnt do for all the kids of today who want everything yesterday, but we managed and developed and got it all together.
Thanks to all the old crew at auran, and all the guys like me who have, in whatever way, helped develop Trainz. Well done on being around for almost 10 years. Its a great game and community.:)

Since UTC.

I just want to put my two cents in. I started with virtual railroading in the nineties with Abradatta using Windows Ninety Five, then Railroad Tycoon one and two. After that I bought MTS and played with that for awhile. My next simulator was Traniz UTC, then Trainz o four and right now I'm using o six which I am happy with. I will upgrade sometime later, but for now this is a good jumping off point. Auran has done a wonderful job and have given me many hours of enjoyment. There's nothing like getting lost in the virtual world of railroading. I am amazed at how Trainz works. Thanks again Auran.
