50's 60's EUROPEAN cars?

So, you go to DLS and search for 1950's vehicles for "north america", and 224 pops up. Fine, I love those old chevy's by the way. Then you search again for "europe" and get the same 224 vehicles. Not so fine.

I need some cars that would've been running around in northern Europe in the 50's, 60's, even 70's would be ok. I have the VW's (beetle and bus), and some morris minors. There's even a few fords I can squeeze by if I need to. But that's all I've been able to find.

I'd love to have a fiat, a 2CV (Citroen), opel, volvo, that kind of thing. Am I just not lucky finding them, or aren't there any?

Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.
 
I use the vehicles from rene_stambke extensively. They are Wartburgers and Trabants. Do a search for:

Trabant
Wartburg
W353

and you end up with some fine European vehicles.
 
Thanks for the tip. I might have been a little more specific, since I meant western Europe, more specifically Denmark. Trabant and Wartburgers were only driven in East Europe in those days. I guess I could sneak a few in for the old look, but still...
I do appreciate the tip though, had not seen those.

The W353 looks nice as well, what is that??

Upon reflection: I can see why you use them. If one is not too familiar with cars (as I'm not), they look pretty much like the cars I saw drive around in those days. I guess I can get away with using them too, he he.

You are right that these are East-European cars, but they are so great to see on your "older" lay-outs.

Btw ... there were Trabants in the West as well, just not very many.

One of the creators of more Western cars is PEV, have a look at his content also here on the DLS. I remember downloading an older Ford Escort made by him.

Mike10 has some VW T2 vans on the DLS
Killerkrabbe has all kinds of older vehicles available.
Bengolle has some Swedisch "brand" re-paints of Killerkrabbe MB L319's ( Mercedes Benz )

I found those, you really got me started in the right direction, so now I have a nice big stable of cars to use, and you're right, I don't care if they're not the "right" brand, the trabby's look good. I just figured out how to make them run down the road too (instead of those boring auto-generated ones).

Do you happen to know if 30 cars (15 in the region and 15 in the map) is the limit? And do you also happen to know if using that many cars, and upping the number of cars generated, eats a lot of fps?

Sorry, but I'm quite insatiable, give me one answer, and I'm ready with two new questions :hehe:
 
I wasn't aware that you can add cars ( which move on road splines ) to the config of a "map" asset.

FPS is quite simple. Put more "work" for the computer on your board and the FPS will drop. How much is dependent on the machine you have and the assets in question.

I stick to the 15 I have in the region file. Plenty of variation in my opinion.

No problem with asking more questions, that is would brings us knowledge.

Well ... thank you jytte. :)

Most other people here just find me utterly annoying, disruptive, arrogant, insulting, childish and what more. It is not easy at times to live up to that standard I can tell you.
