I'm making a number of Australian-themed 42' gauge routes, mostly based around my local prototype (the Western Australian Government Railways/Westrail/Transperth), but they're definitely nowhere near a stage as ready to upload to the DLS. I'm not sure if there's any other 42' gauge routes on the DLS as well.
However, don't be discouraged - why not try making your own route in 42' gauge? It's nowhere near as hard as it seems and it's very satisfying to learn the 'tricks of the trade' as you go along.
If that's too daunting, you could also always convert an existing route in another gauge to 42' by opening that route in Surveyor and saving it as a whole new route (just remember to ask for permission from the original maker if you want to upload it to the DLS at a later date).

Its good to hear your working on some, it really started when I saw some lovely items on the DLS and downloaded them not realizing they were 42".
Good idea about converting an existing layout, can you do this instantly ( ie some rule to change all track from " A " to " B " ) or must you go through the whole layout changing it a bit at a time ?
I have made ( or tried ) to make a couple of layouts but against some of the superb ones that are around, quite frankly mine are crap !!!

I haven't yet found a way to 'mass convert' track from one type to another (ala, standard gauge to 42" gauge etc) - although I presume editing a route's config file by changing content in it's KUID list would be possible.
I have no idea how effective that would be though (and may cause errors to appear in the route too).
So basically the only way would be to open a route in Surveyor and manually delete track and then relay it from scratch. A monotonous and time-consuming task.

Replace assets tool in the main menu in 2010 replaces track, in one go if you need to.
