4-4-2 Atlantic?

I haven't seen one yet, so I'm planning on making one. I'm working on a 2-10-2 Santa Fe right now though.

I've got four. A UP Harriman in its roughly as built configuration as well as an N&W J in its as built appearance are both on my website. I also have a modernized SP one and Murchison lettered J, which were included in Trainz: Murchison 2. Hmm, I should probably revisit the modern SP engine and release it on my website.

Cheers,
Ben

Sorry, should have specified "available on the download station". No offense to you guys who don't want to upload your models to the download station, I fully understand and sympathize with your reasons. However, when I reskin a model and use it in a session, the goal is to upload a dummy-friendly package that anyone can easily install without playing "Hunt the KUID". :'(

can you say what kind of 2-10-2? (IE AT&SF, Reading Co., C&IM, etc.?) cause i'm definitely interested.

Right now, I'm working on an ATSF, but there will be other versions. I'll start a thread on it and put up a screen of progress so far.

Actually, all of Ben's locomotives have their dependencies either on the Dls or on his site, easily and readily accessible.

I'd have to argue with that, I tried several steamers from http://steammachine.com/bdaneal/gbdl.htm and got a *%#&@$#!load of unknown KUIDs, had to do weird stuff like downloading a Shay and some narrow gauge engines (which also had unknown KUIDs) to get a Hudson to work (or something, it was last year).

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=42190&highlight=bdaneal+unknown

That's actually pretty common if you do a search for bdaneal + unknown.

Believe me, I'm NOT griping about that, I'm jumping thru a bunch of ridiculous hoops myself trying to update old content and get it to the point where it works in TS2010 native mode AND is acceptable to the idiot download station bot;

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=72491

And it irritates the hell out of me that these blasted things work fine in TS2010 native mode with a 1.3 or 1.5 build number, but you can't upload them with that build number so you have to update them, which invariably causes explosions of springs and gears and sprockets all over the desktop and several hours of tedious troubleshooting before the updated version works like it did before the update. :'( At some point I'm gonna give up on their sillyassed restrictions and host my files elsewhere too, but for now I'm TRYING to play along with the EZinstall compatibility rulez.

That's one of them things that always happens, and the thing that the download station concept is SUPPOSED to prevent. :hehe: If you have been following a creator from the beginning and downloading everything he uploads, when he uploads a package that's missing an asset YOU don't have a problem because you already have the asset installed from something you downloaded previously. Everyone is tearing their hair out trying to figure out why some have a problem and others don't, until they figure out it's all the newbies who are having the problem.

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=303&t=99348

Happens to everyone, that was the first time I posted a beta on UKtrainsim, all the guys at the US trainsim website had been following the route's development since the early days of rail simulator, so they all had the flatcar that I left out of the package already installed. Trouble didn't show up until I found some people who had never seen that route before. :o

That's the most difficult part of beta testing, you have to keep a clean, brand new copy of the game with nothing but default assets and test everything as if you were brand new to the game.

I can't find the SP 4-4-2.

I believe that was a reskin issued with Murchison 2.

Bernie

Edit: Yes, it is. It is a nice marriage of apparently with the Harriman Atlantic and the short vanderbilt oil tender, reskinned for SP. I neglected to mention it runs in 2010 native.

I found a Pennsy 4-4-2 on the DLS for 2004 way back when but no tender. So I downloaded a Pennsy 4-6-2 K4 Pacfic tender for it. lol:hehe:

Tender_E6 <Kuid2:44797:4540:1>

Should be on the dls I haven't checked yet.

Bob Pearson

PS Just checked both on DLS - you have to check 2004 to see them.

PRR-E6,<kuid:44797:111>

Errors in TS2010 that make it unusable as is, but no restrictions so I can upload a repaired updated 2.9 clone for it. "It looks official" (my brother's way of saying who cares about prototype purity) with the C-41 tender, and it's gonna need C-41 engine spec and cabview anyway, since it don't have a cabview and don't respond to the Raildriver throttle and reverser the way it is now. Definitely has potential.

EDIT: Just saw your post, Bob, thanks, downloading the tender now.

If you make the engine and tender match that wouldn't be a bad loco-tender combination. I like it. I would recomend green on the boiler, cab, and tender since I know the PO&N has green on its passenger and freight locomotives.

Fred

At the moment it is PRR green, altho there seem to be a bunch of alternate textures in the package. Along with parts from somebody's old vacuum cleaner, apparently. :hehe: The tender itself is INOP, with the C-41 tender I can increase/decrease the water or hit the spacebar to shovel coal, but the actual PRR tender don't do diddlysquat and I run out of coal in the firebox after cruising a while. I'll look into fixing that if I can, should have the 2.9 build version ready in a week or so. While I'm at it I'm gonna take a shot at adding my infamous lighting effects to the cab, haven't played with a steam loco in a long time.
