3d max or Blender

Ok so do I get 3d max or do I get Blender and what else do I need to go with it
The reason I am asking is because I have a lot of NZR rolling stock plans
and I want to build them
so where do I go from here

3d max costs money $3,500? sometimes more depending where you live. Blender is free the capabilities are roughly the same I suspect there are more Blender tutorials than 3D MAX tutorials for Trainz.

John is right on that... 3Dmax costs a lot of money while blender is totally free anyway I tried to use blender on my linux laptop but after one hour trying I let it down and took again my old 3Dmax The alternative better solution could be the old good gmax: totally free and with almost all the trainz important features of 3Dmax. If you'll not be able to find it (if I remember the original download page is no more directly findable) I can send you the .exe
