30NG Grain/Wheat/etc. Hoppers?

Sampug394

I'm back. >:]
Look at this:

There's a 30NG 4-6-0.

And That's a HUGE Grain Facility Next to an Expansive Farm.

One Problem that Prevents this 30NG Farm Railway from being of any Use though:

There's no Freight Cars to Hold any Grain/Wheat/Whatever!

Does anybody want to Venture upon Making Grain Hoppers for 30NG? I can Easily Provide Images of Small Rolling Stock if needed... :o

Try Sub Par Production's 30in gondola. I use it for woodchips. I do not know if there is a visible grain load. I suppose you could re-name the woodchips to the grain of your choice since they would look fine for grain.

Kinda Like This...

Just a 2 Bay Hopper, Covered or Not...

That's Exactly the Problem. There' s no Grain/Wheat/Oats/Barley/Any Other Feed Load for NG Hoppers... :o

Maybe try dropping a line on the forum over there. Perhaps someone can help you out. I tried to find a visible load for those hoppers and I have had had no luck yet.

Back in the early days in Australia, grain was carried in open wagons, we didn't have gondolas. The grain was in 185 pound sacks that were all manhandled to load and unload. With the different gauges in each state the grain had to be loaded from one wagon to another at the border, if they didn't swap the bogies over.
All the country stations had large stacks of bagged grain, carted in on horsedrawn and bullock wagons.
Fertilizer was handled in a similar fashion

They did it hard in the good old days.
Cheers,
Mike.

I cloned an ng30 hopper and added the kuid for hp grain in the config file as the 9the product. All is well except I also had to change the image that looked like coal to one copied from a grain product. There may be an easier way, but it was all I could figure out.

That is Almost EXACTLY What I'm thinking of. :D

I am going to make a 2 bay covered hopper for grain once the cab forward is done.

Don't you worry! :D

Dude, you are So AWESOME!

I just Recently incorporated a 30NG Farm Railway, Serving 2-3 Grain Elevators & Interchanging with the SG Trackage on my Northbound "Curtis Branch"... 'Tis why I'd like a Hopper for the 4-6-0 & 4-4-0 on the Line... ;)

Yes it is but it needs to have a center hatch.
David= Or you could make a small grain industry that has an animated hose that goes to the grain car and fills it with grain.

Hahahahahahaha :hehe:

I have never made an industry, that would be quite a challenge.

Maybe someday....
