Kinda new here so please be patient with Me.I was wondering if there are any new Routes I can Download for TRS 2009?The ones that came with the Game seem to be the same ones that were in 2006 and are pretty crappy and most are in a different Language. How do I download them because I cant seem to figure out the Content Manager.Ive tried searching for Routes and Layouts but to no avail.

Thanks,Pig

Hm. I just did a CM2 search for routes with the modifier builtin=false and got 3088 routes. There must be something in there that would interest you. Have you looked?

As Bob points out, there are literally thousands of routes on the Download Station. You will find most that work in TRS2004 or 06 will also work in 09.

I see that this is your first post meaning that you might be a newcomer to Trainz, so a word of advice - the bane of downloading many routes is the search to the far corners of the Universe for those dependencies that are not in-built and are not on the Download Station.

So, initially, I suggest selecting routes that only use dependencies on the DLS. I can't speak for other authors, but my routes do satisfy this criteria. See here for example:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=41109

and sessions here:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=41239

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=41629

To find them, go directly to the DLS, here:

http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php

Use the search function, with philskene as the author and make sure TRS2004 is ticked.

Copy and paste the title of what you want to download into the "Search" pane of CM2 (left side). CM2 should find the asset and it will appear in the main CM2 pane. Drag this into the "Download Helper" pane, click "Start" and away we go. Of course, this assumes you are correctly logged into the DLS.

I hope this gets you started.

Hi Pig,

Yes this is true. There are only a few assets made so far for 2009. Run the program in compatibility mode and everything will look fine. If you have a modern computer, there's little if any loss in performance that they mention. This is due to the older content and how it loaded. It's still faster an more reliable than it was in TRS2006. My personal route has a ton of trees and objects and there is no stutter or crashing, which was a problem in all of the previous versions of Trainz.

I hope this helps,

John

The OP complains of routes in a different language. To rectify this, you should visit the DLS, type in the word "intro" into the search box, and tick off 2009. After the search completes you will see a pack of intros to download to replace the language in the 2009 release.

Good luck.

And this statement:

"there is no stutter or crashing, which was a problem in all of the previous versions of Trainz."

Is simply not true. Perhaps it is only true for Mr. Citron, but it is not universally true. 2009 runs like a can of crap on my computer, capability mode or no. 2006 is stable, does not stutter or crash, and actually runs well...FOR ME. Your results may vary.
