Hi everyone.

For my 2000th post I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas (or Holidays if you prefer) and thanks to everyone for their helpful and courteous replies.

I'll try to cut down but promise nothing..........;)

Hi everyone.

Mick Berg.

Nah - post count is post count Mick, keep on keepin' on...

Cograts, and Happy (insert geographically appropriate politically correct seasonal greeting) to you!

Andy ;)

We used to celebrate post counts. It was a big deal to achieve that next avatar and everyone was pretty good humored about it. That was then.

Now it's a "how dare you pay attention to post counts?" kind of place. Enough people complained about the avatars and the supposed emphasis on the post counts that the practice of paying any regard to either is frowned upon. I don't know what the motivation is, either envy or the embrace of anarchy, but I suspect both.

The keyword for these forums is "change", and the way they have changed reflects society as a whole. I wonder what Mr. Banks would say?

Anyway Mick, congrats on your 2000th post, you have spent it well. A Merry CHRISTMAS to you as well.*

*To anyone who finds the word "Christmas" offensive; I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Working on Avatar For Forum Like Ed's was shortened to WAFFLE , :hehe:

Mick , if it were the old Forum you would receive the Santa Fe ( if I remember correctly ) ?
Anyhow , congrats on 2000 bits of Forum help ! --- ,dave

Mick,

Good to see you achieve the 2000 post level.

I have always read your posts and they are helpful and informative.

Merry Christmas to you.

Regards,
Ron

I was going to say let's bring out the Waffle iron. :D

Good one, Dave.

Congrats Mick and happy holidays to you too. :D

Working on Avatar For Forum Like Ed's was shortened to WAFFLE

:DHow long have you been working on that acronym?:hehe:

What avatar am I working on now, I wonder? I have tried to find the original list lately, but to no avail! The wayback machine has been no help...:'(

LOL! :hehe:

Ed, the avatar list, along with other portions of the old forum, frozen in time, used to be on the Internet Archive. Looks like those archives are now gone or inaccessible. :( Perhaps N3V implemented a robots.txt file or contacted the Intenet Archive or whatever that caused the archives of the old forum to become inaccessible

Here's a screenshot of the top of an old forum thread that was preserved by the Wayback Machine that I took early this year:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That's the old TRS2004 skin. I remember also seeing at the Wayback Machine a later TRS2006 skin that was apparently used until the forum crash in late 2006.

I may or may not have more screenies on my old laptop (which I used at the time I took that screenie).

Regards,

Retro.

That's too bad, to lose a piece of our history like that. I searched for a long time to find the list, but did not have success. If anyone still has it somewhere, please post! Thanks.

Good on yer Mick for making 2000,

Did you end up with a millenium bug, like we were supposed too, when we reached the year 2000...;)

Keep up the great work you do, and thank you for all you valuable help in the past, I would also like to wish you and all my forum friends a very Happy Christmas, with a drink and some thoughts of our absent friends and family.

Joe Airtime

Thanks Joe.

As you can already see, there seems to be no slowing down!

BTW Has anyone else ever lodgged out of the Forum while a picture is on the screen? You will see it goes to black and white. Older Steam era stuff looks great this way. Is there a way to run Trainz in B&W without messing up the whole computer?

Mick.

I've just realised I missed noting my 1000th post! And to think that when I was first given Trainz, I didn't think I would ever be interested in forums! Now I feel that I have made many friends around the world, whose opinions I have very much enjoyed.

Ray

You saying that, I missed noting my 6000th post (and my 6100th post)

Currently, at the time of posting this, I have made 6,116 posts, par for the course of the amount of advice I give on a regular basis.

Shane

Hmmm, so I've made almost 2,300 posts in one year so far (around 73 of my posts date from before 2011, if I remember correctly); maybe I'm the one who needs to cut down---nah, I doubt that's going to happen. ;)
