Here are some random screenshots of the 1960's branch line I have been creating. It's 98% complete.

That really does look very good. A couple of things about signalling... Now I may be totally wrong about this but it strikes me as odd that you have a singal before the loop and then one at the start of the loop in your 7th picture and you have something similar later on. Surely you simply need the signal before the loop and one at the end rather than one a few metres along it?

But as I say a most impressive route in every other way.

Andy

Hi guys, thanks for your Interest in the route.

I will be putting together a little factfile tomorrow morning and will post accordingly.

Regarding the signals on that passing section, I also thought it a little odd to place that type of signal there aswell, but the AI semed to like it like that. I might move it up the track so it doesn't look so odd. Signals are not one of my strong points, they will be checked by my beta tester within the next few days. Fingers crossed the route will be available within 1 or 2 weeks.

Regards,

Leon

The trees come from a few different sources. Once the beta process is finished I'll post sources for all the content. Most of it is from the DLS.

Let me know if there is a tree in particular you'd like to know about and I'll link you up.

UPDATE

Bad news: Real life, namely work has just totally engulfed all of my spare time recently, stopping me from being able to finish the route.

Good News: Route guru Tom (Gamerouge) has kindly offered to adjust the signaling for me and add a few more points. Thereby finishing the route :)

I know Tom is busy working also, so his assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hope to bring you more news as and when it happens.

I just compiled the list of KUID links and info. So the route is very near completion at this stage.

Best regards,

Leon

I hope to DL it ASAP. It looks great! Is it for 04 aswell as 06? If not then it gives me an excuse to upgrade to 06.

Fantastic shots Communist. Really excellent stuff. I particularly like your track and the way you place vegetation near walls (a lot of people forget to do this and lose realism as a result)

It's easy to be pedantic about signalling, but we must remember that Trainz AI works differently to reality, and as long as it works I don't suppose it matters much. The priority is train safety and protection: what is the use in having prototypical signalling if your trains keep having prangs?!

Well done.
Best wishes,
Padster

Yeh I see that Padster but with that signal there it was going to lead to trains sitting and fouling the points and bringing things to a stand still anyway.

Andy

Yes you are right Andy. I don't dispute the fact that siting signals near junctions causes problems because it does.

Best wishes,
Padster

its been along time since the last post from someone almost a year lol but is that track available on the dls looks perfect for my new route thnx

Communist,

I don't want to be a source of aggravation, but those that don't have an FCT, have slow PCs, and just hate the DLS/CMP with a passion don't really want to mess about with the DLS/CMP as far as they have too. Could someone be kind enough to host this on their site or what-have-you? Mine PC is a Vista that hates CMP with a passion and it would be nice to have your route(looks good for everything from Pre-War BR steam to Modern TOC eras).
