This is a nice chronicle of how the New Haven looked in the 1950s under Patrick McGuiness's leadership. The single Budd RDC, aka a Bee-liner to the New Haven, looks as if it's ready to tip over in a few locations. Quite a number of the locations in the films are still active as commuter stations. Braintree for instance is now a station on the MBTA Red Line. The line along the shore does not. That appears to be the line to Provincetown which was abandoned in the mid or late 50s.
The drawbridges and semaphore signals are at South Station in Boston. They no longer exist unfortunately due to the electrification project for the Northeast Corridor.
