I have been working on an 1890's version of the the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad using Fishlipsatwork's blank route. This is a very early version that uses the D&RGW locos, rolling stock, and buildings before the turn of the century. This was part of the San Juan Extension of the narrow gauge part of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway (later to be known as the Denver & Rio Grand Western Railroad long it became known as the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Here are a few screens of the nearly completed 67 mile route:
Lava Tank in low desert
Water stop at Toltec Siding high above the Toltec Gourge
Coming out of Tanglefoot Curve east of Cumbres Pass
Crossing Cascade Trestle heading east towards Osier
Shot of the Chama Yard
Three locos parked at Cumbres Pass
Water stop at Sublette
Cumbres Pass Depot
Approaching Big Horn in the high desert
I hope to have the route completed before early summer.
Mike
