Regarding the 'derailments', after many occasions yesterday, I have given up and started from scratch. So far so good.
Thanks for this. Sketchy or not, you've pointed me to the list of driver commands to be added. BUT, unfortunately for me, there is nothing between 'Run Around' and 'Unload'. I've scrolled through the list a couple of times and there is no mention of 'Maximum Speed' so unless there's somewhere...

well, running it manually didn't work. Going along at 90% line speed, on plain line, the loco and 1st wagon just came to a griding halt, with the rest of the train continuing on, loco less!
Any ideas? Is it possibly down to the amount of consists I have on the network? Although, I rarely have...
