My understanding is the team is going to find future solution that'd be able to satisfy both your existing limitations and loco authors, right?
Well it's good you're working on it, however I propose for things to return to previous state in the meantime while you're working around this bug...
In the wiki it says:
For engine assets with more than 8 throttle notches, the maximum throttle notch will map to the notch 8 data in the config file, the middle throttle notch will map to notch 4, etc. The game code will use linear interpolation to determine the power output for the other (in...
Yeah it's named HF1 which gives me hope that there will be HF2. Now that we've (mostly) done with performance issues which was the priority, I hope my bug reports will now be looked at.
I'm a bit surprised N3V released the same patch without changing anything, it's still better than the original SP6 release of course, although I hope smaller bugs I reported will be fixed in HF2.
Upon further investigation I found a couple of performance issues, but these issues appear exclusively on large, resource demanding areas. I responded back to the N3V in the same e-mail chain, like they asked in the original e-mail and showed the difference between SP5 and this new build. And...
I can confirm that the performance seemed to improve. It's a lot better than SP6 at first glance, and so far NO problems with loading assets. Will test further.
Honestly, I'm amazed at how after all these years you maintain your mental health, because I've been actively Trainzing for quite a while, but I'm pretty sure I wanted to smash my monitor at least a dozen times through the years.
Having said that, you're 100% right. We don't know everything. I...
If you're using the regular retail TRS22 (not Trainz+), then the link would be https://dl1.n3vgames.com/Installers/TRS22/24Q1/TRS22-Offline-Installer-128487.zip
Then just patch using launcher to 129335.
AI trainz or something else - everything is affecting the performance, practically every object. Deleting some things or others, whether it's trains or trees or houses or tracks whatever, will positively affect the performance, it has always been that way.
The thing is in SP5 same areas worked...
One thing I found out interesting is if you push your settings (both Trainz Launcher and in-game) to maximum (even trees), the performance actually improves at times. The game starts to load GPU more with higher settings. It helps if you have a really strong PC. People with not so expensive...
Okay, I'll try using the helpdesk ticket form. I mostly used it to send smaller bugs that were easy to explain and reproduce. I just feel like sending the whole routes with sessions and dependencies with explaining all the times where issues happen is a lot more comfortable in a carefully...
What do you mean? People posting examples of problems, just like N3V asked.
I'm willing to help. I asked if I can send some Routes to the devs via e-mail, and nobody responded yet.
Thanks for the acknowledgement of the performance problem, @n3vpolsen. I'm pretty certain I can help with this.
First, I'm posting my 2 examples of the problem, just in case you did not see it in the other thread:
Second, I can try sending you some community routes with scenarios (of course...
...If there's one coming at all. It's been a week and a total silence from the devs. Responds to my bug reports are taking a few days also.
One interesting thing I noted is that SP6 is having the same trainz-build as SP5 - 5.6. This potentially tells us that 5.7 is registered with the new...
