Problems with pweiser's PRR P5a electric locomotives

It may be that TS2019 is making its own decision about when to transition, based solely or largely on how many faces it can save. That seems to happen sometimes. The only remedy is, as mentioned, to replace .lm with .im in the configuration file - if Validation will accept that.

Problems with pweiser's PRR P5a electric locomotives

I'm glad this isn't a script error! These were revised at least once, maybe twice to correct those. This is almost certainly a LOD problem. The Trainz Forge version probably adjusts the LOD values in the .lm file, and the (main) bogey has either been left alone or not adjusted enough. You...

Are there content creators who do not share their creations

I don't share all - some are built for specific routes, and uploading routes is impossible due to version insistence. Same with some railcars, but I'm learning. If "no longer supported" versions were permitted, I could certainly share a lot more!

    Advice on Hardware

Thanks! My impression is that a real Nvidia chip would be a plus. Wonder what's in those "cigar box" gaming PCs on Amazon, aside from the video chip?

    Advice on Hardware

While it would be probably be possible to glean the necessary info from other threads in this forum, hoping others will have experience/advice on this. I'm planning to get a new PC for the required Windows 11 "upgrade." Present machine is a simple Win10 desktop, 4 years old; I run Trainz 2009...

    PWeiser content problems.

Thanks for the information. My assets do not use ARN: the road numbers, lights, pantographs, etc. are controlled by custom scripts. These were built in TS2009, and the versions on DLS have not been updated; the scripts probably contain errors, or at least features that don't work in progeny...

How do I open the doors and see if passengers are getting off so that most of the seats are free on any train?

Passengers are cargo, so the creator can call for (only) specific sets of passengers, same as type of loads for a boxcar. But, as with the boxcar, you can change or add to the accepted passenger set(s) in-game on a by-car basis, or even to the car (or copy of it) in Content Manager. You can...

GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

In general, the question is whether to use what your design program provides for constrained animation, or just rotate the parts (grouped hierarchically) frame to frame manually/by inspection. Fortunately, a Faively single-arm pantograph will be much easier than two-armed/pentagon versions...

    transparent textures for old model

The usual reason for this is that the texture file (.tga normally, for an old asset) has an alpha (stencil) layer which you did not include in your modified version (the one you changed to reskin the asset). Go back to the original .tga file, check for a "mask" layer, and include it in your...

Looking for electric locomotive with pantograph

I don't know the specific assets discussed here, but have some familiarity with pantograph operation in Trainz -though not the most recent versions. It may be that the creator of these assets scripted the driver figures, rather than have them appear automatically. Or just defined them as...

Show Off Your Routes *Potential For Large Screenshots*

@hiawathamr - not sure I'd want to stay at that motel - between the crossing bells, the trains' horns and diesel sounds (plus slack and brake noise) it could be a little hard to sleep. Oh, wait! I *did* stay at that motel, but it it was in West Virginia ;)
