You might want to check out my line of "Truly Seasonal" PBR ground textures. Each of them has four different textures that display according to the season. To display the snow texture you have to also set the Snow Level to zero as well as have the right season shown.

I have set up the crop duster on my Wilsons Mills and Mount Olive route to do exactly what you are talking about and the driver is AI. You might want to look at how I did it there, rather then me trying to explain the set up here.

I am not sure I am following you here. Are you saying the overall appearance of the signal is not prototypical, or are you saying that the aspects are not correct for the diverging signal being shown in the screenshot for that situation?
