A 3 car DMU from Darlington heads towards Penrith at Appleby East station on the Eden Valley Railway. This line has never officially closed and the track remains but has never seen a train for 36 years. The level crossing gates have been removed and the crossing lightly tarmaced over.

I've upgraded my CPU, Motherboard and RAM. Previously my CPU was i7 11400k , motherboard was MSI MAG Z590 Tomahawk WIFI and RAM was 32GB 4 x 8 DDR4. OS was W11 home.
Specs now are in my signature, OS is Windows 11 Pro.
Without a doubt. I've upgraded to 64GB of DDR5 and Trainz routes open instantly. Since I have 2 spare slots I may go crazy and upgrade to 128 just for the hell of it.
To put it in context the El Capitan supercomputer has 5.5 million RAM.
The 2MT heads south at Ormside station (closed 1952). Although the station building still exists it has been ruined visually in recent years by building a huge dormitory for inner city kids on outdoors trips.

I've been tinkering around with the old Settle & Carlisle route and since I abhor closed stations I've reopened Cumwhinton station (closed 1956) and here we see it with Ivatt 2MT 41282 and a 3 coach train with the stationmaster having a chat with the driver.

I used to have an MSI AIO water cooler and to start with it was fantastic but sadly they suffer from a buildup of sediment in the CPU block which effectively stops them working.
I switched over to a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax which is vast and rather ugly but itt does its job and I don't have to...
There are companies on Fleabay and other sites which sell computers to novices and they advertise these computers as "i7 CPU" but CPUs go in Generations with the current being the 14th Generation. A 4th Generation i7 CPU will be pretty useless now. Although I'm British and unfamiliar with US...
Hello everybody , I got a bit burnt out with Trainz months ago but following a major computer rebuild I'm back. This time round all I've lost are all of my map tiles o_O Here we see 60084 Trigo heading south through Lamesley station which was closed in 1959 and razed for the building of Tyne...
It depends whether you want a computer "just sufficient" or what you would like. I'm 66 and a couple of months ago 3 friends in a similar age group died. The wife of the man next door died of cancer and now he's a hermit. You can't take it with you so it doesn't hurt to have something better...
In the 1980s i worked trains out of Hornsey carriage depot in north London. One of the fitters there was suspected of theft and when police went to his home they found it fitted out with seats and tables from class 313 EMUs . He had a cab / cab radio as his front door bell.
In California 2 Caltrain employees allegedly embezzled thousands from the company to build themselves apartments above the station and nobody noticed they were living there...
You can buy a small ( debit card sized) monitor which be mounted internally in your PC or externally and used with the Aida64 software it will monitor everything. I have the monitor but sadly didn't realise you have to pay for Aida64 and it's not cheap.
