    Br class 08 usage question

They weren't just used for shunting. Amongst other things I remember them working steel coil trains from Ravenscraig to Mossend Yard; a working formerly done by class 17s and an assortment of type 2s. Admittedly it was only about 3 miles, but these were heavy trains from steel mill to transfer...

    TRAINZ=MC2

I've paid a tenner to travel into space at lightspeed for a week or two. When I come back 20 of your Earth Years will have elapsed which means I can dive straight into TRAINZ 2045 for a very reasonable £168 per month. What can I expect from the DLS, graphics quality and Surveyor 9 and will the...

Time to get rid of those old 2D or 3D low quality people!

I must say that I appreciate your creations; especially those foxy vixens whose presence lends grace and fragrance to many of my platforms.

    Trainz Roadmap

Suggestions made. Anything which enhances the believability of the simulated worlds we create gets my vote and many of those options do that. Also added a few of my own: hope they're not misunderstood - I'm just a boy whose intentions are good.

I am stepping away from Trainz and the forums for a while.

You are TRAINZ very own Beatle. God speed, hit the right notes and haste ye back.

    Question/problem relating to bridges.

There are individual, stand-alone bridge piers which I have used in the past to add height when faced with this problem. It can be devil's own job to position them in three dimensions so they align under the too-short-bridge-piers but if they're wider it helps. Looks authentic too.

Why aren't railroad trains generally locked to the track to prevent derailments?

Don't forget that the track & sleepers aren't fastened to anything (paved concrete track being a different case). They sit in the ballast and resistance to movement is down to their mass and a certain resistance to movement from the stiffness of the steel. A train subject to a derailing force...

Many thanks JC - I'll give that a go.

    Trainz Update Announcement (SP4)

I may be a dunderheid but... has anybody got the new bulk replace to work without covering their layout in random objects with a density akin to porcupine quills?

Bemused day trippers, having bought a ticket to ride, wander around disconsolately and wonder if they should just get back on the train.

    Is Trainz only for supercomputers?

I've got used to my iMac GPU rendering at a 'What The Butler Saw' kind of frame rate. Not just that, but my trains often overtake its best efforts so that they're often running (very jerkily) along the bare ballast waiting for the track to display. Bridges appear too late and scenic features...

    HD terrain screenshots

As per others I find the HD works best in concentrated pockets of detail. In fact if it weren't for the rip in the fabric of spacetime where HD meets 5 or 10 metre baseboards I'd quite happily keep the HD to where it matters most. My route is an island surrounded by sea and comprises about 2000...
