    TransDEM Questions

I downloaded a couple of .tif files tonight. Tranzdem would not open them ( errors ). I opened them with irfanview and they looked like regular black & white dems to me. I don’t plan on taxing Tranzdem with all the work. I’m only doing a few miles across Shelby County Tennessee. This includes...

    TransDEM Questions

They are regular .TIF files. I just opened them with Irfanview and it did not require unzipping. Looks like a black & white DEM to me. :cautious:

    TransDEM Questions

I didn't use it for years and Dr. Zigler re-instated me. I had it before 2016, probably before 2012. I think all updates are free, and will work with Trainz 22+. Email Dr. Zigler, he probably has you on file.

    TransDEM Questions

DEMs... I made a screenshot of the issue, but I am unable to post it here. The "Data Extent " 1 X 1 Degree " selection button does not appear on my screen. Hence, when I search, "no results" are returned. I did get 2 results from this same area last week, but when I tried to load them into...

    TransDEM Questions

Yes, I did that. It changes color, but I don't know what that means. One would think an area as populated as Memphis, TN would have that data available.

Trainz 2022 performance is still so bad

Thanks for the reply... I have not been as frequent a user in the past 10 years as I was before a move in 2015. ( I got back into Ham radio ) I do own Trainz 22+. Oddly enough, I started trying to use it a few weeks ago and found that it now loads & runs just fine, although my computer is...

Trainz 2022 performance is still so bad

I have found this "playing catch-up" a problem for Trainz in the 20 + years that I have been using it. In fact, Trainz has been the driver for all of my computer upgrades since the early 2000s. ( I don't use any other "games" or simulations ) It seems that no matter how much CPU & GPU + RAM you...

Most YouTube Tutorials by N3V 9 years old ?

Surely there have been updates in Trainz in the past 10 years... One big one is Surveyor 2.0. The "tutorials" I can find on YouTube for Surveyor 2.0 by N3V are less than 5 minutes. Is this sufficient? Others are done by inexperienced users and, as such, they have more questions than answers...

    TransDEM Questions

Hello, I am posting this here as it is the most recent thread concerning Tranzdem. ( I am a licensed user ) When using the USGS data download, the 1 X 1 degree ( Data extent ) selection no longer appears to be available. Could this be the reason I am getting errors such as "No Data available"...

TranzDEM US Route: Import into Trainz

Yes, of course, they would need to license its use from Dr Ziegler. Perhaps they could do this on a per-use basis, rather than a "Blanket use" case, since most Trainz users don't use Tranzdem. However, when building prototypical routes, it is invaluable.

TranzDEM US Route: Import into Trainz

I found this to be greatly hepful. Anything that supports Trainz and TranzDem should be allowed. I don't see why N3V hasn't already incorporated TranzDem into Trainz. It has been around for over 15 years. :)

Welcome to TRS22 from the CEO

How about the fact that there isn't really much difference in the game in 25 years? Sure, under the hood, maybe. But I run coal trains. I generally place or use a coal provider and a coal consumer at opposite ends of a route. I start two coal trains at opposite ends with instructions to "Load"...
