Trainz Plus Beta Plant Factory support 131307 & 131308

Installed easily, performance is much better, it was unresponsive at time using the previous beta and the whole PC would lock up.

The S&D is coming along very nicely there PLP. Kind regards, Gary

    Absolute elevation

Yes, this is really annoying when building underground stations and tunnel portals etc. In that case, the Z value needs to stay the same.

    rolling stock we're lacking?

Yes, some good examples there. The DEMU 'Thumpers' on the DLS look rather dated. For me the greatest omission is the BR Class 303, iconic Scottish blue train and also the 309, 310 and 312. The 309s would be top of my wish list. I've never seen anyone post about those, particularly not the 303...

Do you make Signalling maps of your layout and if so, what do you use to make it?

Yes that sounds a very useful tool. I will continue to draw maps on paper (with junction and signal numbers etc).

    Dovetail - N3V 1 : 0

Nice one, thanks. I've just noticed that TSW5 is included in my Xbox PC Game Pass so will install and have a look at the editor. I am doing a Game Design Bootcamp using Unreal Engine (v5) so this is of interest.

    Dovetail - N3V 1 : 0

Does that use the Unreal Engine Editor itself or a proprietary Dovetail editor?

    Dovetail - N3V 1 : 0

Yes, there are many differences between Trainz and the various Dovetail products. For me it is simple: For UK stuff at least, TSW/TSC is definitely more immersive for *driving* , due to the sounds and realistic lighting/weather. But for anyone such as myself who prefers getting their hands dirty...

Discovery of screenshots from 18 years ago

From that small route 20 years ago, I have built a huge network. I have been giving Aylescombe (where that old 158 was pictured) a spruce up today (literally). The older parts of my route are full of billboard trees and some are even partially transparent! I have applied PBR textures and...

I am stepping away from Trainz and the forums for a while.

All the best John, see you soon! Kind regards, Gary

    Railway schematic software

I have managed to get it working, although the website is rather clunky. The register button was greyed out but I clicked it anyway, it let me. The confirmation email got marked as Spam by my Gmail but I got it working in the end. It is very engaging, I was heavily using something called SimSig...

    Railway schematic software

As the creator of a large fictional railway network, route maps are a vital part. I have tried several different software options but not found anything yet more satisfactory than the pen and paper option. This is the sort of thing I would like to produce...

Discovery of screenshots from 18 years ago

I was looking in my archive folders for something entirely different yesterday when I came across some long-forgotten screenshots from Trainz. I think my first version was whatever came before TRS 2004, as I remember upgrading to 2004. The route featured here is still in progress as of this year...

    UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

The LNWR class 350s have a full yellow gangway door. Some of the previous liveries had half black and half yellow. There are some really useful photos of every unit on Wiki Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:British_Rail_Class_350s_by_number Hope this helps! Kind regards, Gary
