Screenshot of the Week: 11/13 to 11/20 (Warning: potential for very large shots)

Submission closed. The voting is here: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=81907.

This week's theme: High-altitude stations (suggested by rbar_164). This means stations in a setting that is high above sea level. For example, stations located in the mountains.

Next week's theme: Bodies of water.

One screenshot allowed per entrant. Screenshots must adhere to the theme and the Code of Conduct.

Submission closes on November 20 at 12:00 a. m. UTC (November 19 at 8:00 p. m. here in the eastern U. S.), after which point voting will begin.

Please feel free to PM me with suggestions for themes, etc. They are much appreciated! :)

Good luck. :)

Regards,

Retro.

Edit: Doh! Forgot to put the size warning in the thread title again! :o

Another award winning signature Ed. You ask what reward, "Most clever" of course.

I guess I should add a pic too. Hmm not the best but here goes:

This is my entry, close to where the misty morning mountains meet the Mediterranean.

At this Ligurian location, aircraft leave their pollution on descent to the local international airport. The local FS ALn 668 diesel smokes pretty badly too.

They also disturb the peace whilst trying to take a nap under a local olive tree.

Cheers
Casper

(Be nice, it's my first entry)

Edit; I'm not sure a water stop counts as a station. :o

normhart - I'd count it if I was running the contest, but I'm not, so I have no clue.

All - I'm having trouble coming up with a shot this week, we'll see...I'll edit this post if I get a good one.

Off-theme shots will still be counted but will have their vote counts halved in the voting results.

So normhart's shot will still be counted, but will have its vote count halved as per the above.

The same applies to avguisaxtrainz's shot: I do not see any stations in it. :o

Nevertheless, both are nice shots. :)

And no, a water tank does not count as a station. :)

"Al's high altitude service station"
I did this just for the fun of it when I saw this weeks theme. I realize any votes will be cut in half.

Rats!

I'd withdraw my shot and replace it with something more on topic but... it is a nice shot. :hehe:

Next time for sure, I read "High-altitude" but how I missed "Stations" I'll never know. I'll try to read the entire theme next time... "Bodies" , hum, that leaves things rather wide open. :hehe:

thats an awesome scene but the rules don't Specify rail stations only

damn missed the deadline... odly; if I go off the clock I haven't. My computer clock says it's 9:01pm & your post was put up at 9:08pm :D

If you'll allow it; my last min submission.

Actually, I'm late as well--an hour late! It takes time to parse votes to close one week's voting thread and parse submissions to start voting for the next week.

The forum clock is around 13 minutes ahead of my clock, by the way. :o

You have been added to the entrants list in the voting thread. Since your shot does not contain any stations that I can see, it has been listed as off-theme. It is a great shot nevertheless. :)

@Kon1786: It was believed that people would understand what "station" means, and many did, based on the fact that the majority of the submissions fit the theme.

Retro.
