I like downloading things but now my trainz wont start when i click start. It just freezes but re-installing it dosent work! Please Help:'( :'(

As it's TRS2006 that is affected, you will need to go into the Trainz installation folder, and delete assets.tdx and assets.bku (assets.bku will be in the Cache folder if it is present) when Trainz is not running.

Also note that if you have downloaded anything for later versions (Trainz Classics or later - trainz-build 2.7 or higher), then you may still have problems after, which will require Content Manager to solve (by deleting the offending content)

Can you still access Content Manager?

If you can, try deleting any recently added content and see if that allows you to start it.

Only other option is to do a clean reinstall of TRS2006, apply SP1 if needed (without running Trainz first) then reimport the content - before commiting though, check any recently added content on the web-based DLS to make sure it's for TRS2006 or lower, not Trainz Classics, TS2009, TS2010 or TS12)

i am haveing the same problem with ts 2010, it will open the launcher and occasionally enter the game but will close for no apparent reason. idk if it maybe needs like a certain visual basic version or maybe .net fx or the like. any hlep would be greatly appercated as i love trainz. ps: i tryed deleting the assets as metioned above and that did not work.

Firstly, register your serial number.

Secondly, the software requirements are:

DirectX 9.0C
.NET Framework 2.0 (for certain functions)
OpenGL (the graphics card must support this - it is part of a graphic card's drivers)
It may also need Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime SP4, and Visual C++ Runtime 2005/2008.

Shane

all software requirements have been met and yet when i click "start" on the launcher, the launcher disappears and nothing happens.

how should i go about doing this? *dumb question i know but the only truely dumb questions are the ones left unasked*

Go to the top of this page.

See the words...... SERIAL NUMBER

Scroll down to where you see TRS 2006.

Enter the 24 digit alpha/numeric CD Key "serial number".

XXXX - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX

Be careful with 1 l , 0 o, s 5,

Hope this helps....... let us know.

Regards,

I have the same problem

:'( I have trainz 2010 all system requirements are met including regestering the serial number. It will sometimes Start the startup menu and when I click start task manager says "not responding" then I have to close the program and restart the computer. Then I restart this process. Help me!

Have you shut down your computer, and then closed the lid/ turned off the monitor forcing it into sleep mode. Although Trainz will shut down, it will fail to start the next time round (god knows why!);) . The simple remedy is, to shut your computer down, wait a whole 5 minutes:sleep: (:hehe:) . Then finally restart the computer, and trainz should magically respond!
Hope this helps,
Uracco

It does not appear that you have registered your serial number.

A 'TS2010' icon will appear next to your username, once the serial is registered.

Anyway, you may find that the pause is due to Trainz creating or recreating it's database of content.
