BR Station Whistle?

Does anybody know of any asset that can be linked through the AI driving instructions such that a train will get a whistle before it leaves the station? E.g. A rule that states that x seconds before the end of the Wait time, a whistle will sound.

Of course it would have to work in TC3 ...... my favourite train sim!

Regards. Colin.

What about the rule called Hornz?

Colin,

There is a sound file on the DLS called guards whistle. Once you download and install it you will find it in the driver command menu (ie drive to trackmark, navigate via...etc) it appears as 'Play sound file' and then a sub menu of 'Guards Whistle'. I use it when I use AI to drive a train into a station to load or unload. After the load command I use the 'play sound file' command to sound a guards whistle and then a 'wait 5 seconds' command and then 'hornz'. My AI trains drive into the station and load. A guards whistle then sounds and 5 seconds later the engine sounds its own whistle/horn before moving out of the station.

Search the dls for <KUID:165221:1092>. It is a 2006 asset but works fine in 2009 ao should be OK in TC3

Col,

No problem. It will do exactly what you want when used in conjunction with 'wait for'. The only frustration that I have is that due to the sound issues in Trainz you will sometimes here the guards whistle being sounded for a train in a station in another part of the route even though you may be several 'scale' miles away.

Post back if you need me to explain in greater detail about how I use it on my routes

I will probably limit to certain trains for that reason. I also do not put Soundhorn markers everywhere for the same reason! My stations are not interactive so I simply "Wait for 5minutes > Soundfile> Wait for 5secs. Works great. Colin.
