Great to see the forums are back again.

Considering we have a new look to the forum, my project has also undergone a number of changes, one of them being a change of name to Cityrail 2007/2008.

New screenshots will be added to this new thread in a few days from now.

Screenshots shown in the old forum are still available in the archives of my blog to anyone who may have missed my posts here in the last 18 months.

Nice to see this project is still alive. Nice new banner pretty cool! I can't wait to hear what haas changed! But I will like the rest of us.

For TRS2004 or TRS2006?

It is being designed in TRS2006 and hopefully will be able to played on TRS2004....... I believe there is a way of doing this and hopefully I saved somewhere the instructions on how to do so which I found on the old forum.

This looks really cool!:)

Thanks trainboy1094,

Still a lot of work to do on it still. Currently working my way through 35 kilometres, or 22 miles, of Blue Mountains terrain which is a bit challenging. But it will look great in the end. The Blue Mountains section of the project will stretch from an elevation of 67 metres above sea level to 997 metres above sea level and is where I am hoping some great screenshots will be available.

Work still progresses on the Blue Mountain area. However, I am switching to other areas of Sydney as well so I am not spending too much time in one area.

But before I leave the Blue Mountains, this was an interesting screenshot I took of the Nepean River passing several metres below Lapstone. Not sure how this effect occoured but I found it pretty interesting.

Hello Roy,

Whilst in the Blue Mountains, Have you considered incorporating Cyberstorm's amazing funicular railways at Katoomba?.
I did some research & discovered there was an historic tramway at the bottom of the valley (Megalong??) as well as the funicular cliff-ride, & the skyway gondola.

cheers,

Noel.B

Still have to look at that but will most likely include my own version of the funicular railways in the project . Wasn't aware of the tramway but will most definitely look into that. As for the skyway, yes it will be there.

Thanks Pete,

Keep an eye on my blog for any news of releases....but it will still be some months away before anything is ready.

More of my custom models will be released on the DLS soon as some people have been asking for.

Cheers

It has been a while since I posted here and I am now intending to post here again on a regular basis basis.

Work on this project is still ongoing with new models and additions being added on a daily basis. More details of this is found in my blog for anyone that is interested in how this project is coming along.

I have lost count of how many models I have created for the project, and this screenshot is an example of the development of the 2nd Version of my Cityrail Tunnels.

The tunnel is by no means complete and will go through a number of stages where the tunnel is darkened and interesting additions such as water seeping from the walls in some places will be added.

This is a screenshot of version 2 of the Cityrail 2007/2008 tunnels I have built for the project. More work needs to be done on these tunnels but the basic structure is there. What I need to do is to add more details to the tunnel, such as the lighting as seen in the Sydney tunnels, make a slight adjustment to the darkness levels and add some interesting areas where you see things like signs of water seeping through the wall.

I also will be improving the tunnel entrances, darkening the concrete and adding moss and other details to the model's texture.

The Cityrail 2007/2008 project was nicely documented in the Auran screenshot forums going back to early 2005, but was sadly lost when the forums experienced technical issues last year and the content was lost.

However, using Google caches, I have been able to resurrect the lost posts and have now added them to my blog this month to provide a source of history for the project.

So anyone who hasnt seen the early shots of the project, please feel free to check out my blog for these "lost" screenshots.

Work on my project is still going strong with a lot of content being added to the project. Cityrail 2007/2008 is now beginning to take some shape after some time of development and will hopefully be of interest to a lot of the trainz fans. The project does run slow at times because 98% of the time is spent on developing new models for the layout..... this taking more time than I had hoped. Despite the time it takes to work out how to create certain models in gmax, the result so far is well worth the time it takes to put it all together.
