Route Pictures

When you open CMP and click on an assest you notice in the view assest tab there is a spot that a picture would be and below it has a box. This is where you can type your discreption of the route/assest.:cool: :)

For a description you can do this in survayor by going to survayor options and choose edit route or soemthing of the sort. and you can change the description. Or you can do it in the config where it says description.

Now for the picture you must resize the picture to 240x180.(I use .jpg format) Then open CCP. And right click on the main file in the drop down menu(on the left) and choose add thumbnail. Then a new window will open,browse to it. Then save. It should have worked. There may be some steps I left out but its hard for me to open CCP without closing CMP first:confused: So it's really annoying. hopefully someone will have more detailed instructions. But if you get it with mine then more to ya!:hehe: ;)
 
Ok...I think I am lost on how to put a description and a pic still...What is CCP?? Or did you mean CMP??
I dont got the add thumbnail option to choose from from when I right click the file im CMP

Gandalf is incorrect. You need a thumbnail picture which is 240 x 180 pixels, but for the splash screen that accompanies the description you need a 512 x 512 picture as well. In order for Trainz to show them correctly you need the correct lines of code in the config file.

Note that you should not put in the width and height tags for the splash image as for some reason that confuses trainz. Maybe this bug has been corrected in TC, or will be in TRS2009.

The names of the images don't matter...use what you like but remember the .jpg part.
 
I think I'll skip the picture and the description....I don't wanna mess something up.......Thanks though :wave:

You don't use a 240 x 180 picture for the splash screen because it will vertically distort the image, as you can see in the example posted above. You need a square image.

I used 240 x 180 and this is what I got

It doesn't look 1 bit distorted. Maybe it depends on the angle,what your taking a picture of,and how your monitor/computer is set up.
 
It is also blurry because trainz is blowing up a very small image. Personally I prefer trying to do it correctly...not that I am always sucessful. ;)

Its blurry because it was uploaded:p And I tried your way and it made my route disappear and become an "untitled" asset:o :confused:
 
Yikes...I didnt mean to open up a can here...I was just wondering how it was done...No need to go into a debate here....He likes it his way and you like it your way...Hey if it works...More power to ya's :wave: PEACE
