delete missing assets

can anyone tell me how to delete missing assets from a route? I go to the drop-down menu in surveyor, click on 'delete missing assets' and nothing happens. I have used 'replace asset', that works but delete does not.:(

cheers, I am using build 61388. I guess I will have to wait for a fix.

Yes, we have been waiting a long time for a HF 5 to take care of a few of these bugs. I am hoping to see progress on this soon because it seems that every few months is the timeline for the patches so we are about due. Some of these were ultimately seen in the beta testing phase, but never gotten the attention then and still are there. Nothing can always happen as fast as one would like, but I have several routes that will definitely benefit from this when they fix it. Deleting them via the config file does not always work and is also time consuming too. I backed my version back to 58414 because 61388 was not really any better and actually seemed to crash more. Hopefully, a HF 5 comes along soon, then I can finish my last routes on TS12 and focus on T2 and the changes that will have.

It worked! I tried the "Delete Missing Assets" and it worked, three times. I opened a route a choose used the "Delete Missing Assets" option, after about a couple of minuteness I got the message "Clone or Unlock" the route layer, I unlocked the route layer and repeated the process. Merged session into layer and re-saved the route. CM showed no dependencies were missing, after exit. The only time this did not work is when the dependency was on the DLS, downloading the dependency cleared it. Using build 61388.

Well spotted John, I have just tried deleting missing assets in the session editor and it worked for me as well. While doing it I noticed that a missing spline which was showing up as the dreaded dashed white lines disappeared before the clone unlock message comes up. But presumably you have to select one option for the changes to be permanent and for them to be saved.

I suggest you start a new thread to highlight your success.

You must have a session for this to work. I just tried again on a route without a session, it did not work. I added a session, and then used the Delete Assets, the warning message pop-up appeared, but this time there were only 2 choices, "Unlock" was not available, I cloned the layer and saved the route/session, exited to CM, and voila, the orange/yellow icon was gone.

It certainly looks as though "delete missing assets" works in the session editor but not the route editor. Odd when you consider that we are always told to make changes to the route in the route editor!

If we are talking about build 61388 then this suggestion don't work. i tried it a couple of times, the route don't want to commit the changes at the end, or close TS with Microsoft information.

Did you actually try doing it in the session editor and does the route allow changes, some are protected.

Thanks for the steps on getting this to work. I was able to repeat this on several routes and uploaded updates to the DLS with out the missing pofig trees.
