Why some people don't like subways

The man walked out of the station with the victims cellphone, the police say they do not have a motive.
Couldn't possibly have been robbery could it ?

They smell dank and musty, like a rainstorm storm drain, (and other odiferous liquids) and have an abundance of rodentiarous familiarious.

You must've ridden on the MBTA in Boston.

Sadly, there are many mentally ill homeless people who have very dangerious conditions such as Schizophrenia, and should be permenantly hospitalized. These people cannot function fully in society and should have been placed in a mental institution, but end up on the streets instead because many mental hospitals were closed "to save money". The problem is we are now paying for their care anyway because they end up in jail.

People were pushed to the tracks, people fell to the tracks, and people commit suicide by jumping in front of trains. Some people think that stations should have walls with sliding doors but it won't work if the subway system has many different makes and models of subway cars.

They're used around the world. They're called platform screen doors (PSDs) and platform edge doors (PEDs).

A well-known Mickey Mouse rail line in the U.S. even uses them (pic below).

Because people never do anything to endanger your life on the road....

And that's why I recommend "the horse" as a secure means of travel. People generally move aside and don't try to bother you very much when you travel across town atop a large steed.

Of course you do have to watch out for the other equestrians/equestriennes. Some can be quite bothersome. (Beware of the those in full armor, carrying lances.)

That wouldn't work in Philadelphia. You wouldn't believe how often a platform is overshot here and the train has to back up.

If the train had to line up with doors then we would spend forever at each stop.

Elmer Fudd used to have the same sort of problem when Bugs Bunny would throw a banana peel on the track that Elmer's train was running on.
