Wow, that's a pretty fine series of screenies Chris.

Mine are going to look garish now.

Clinchfield in early fall.

I'm not really satisfied with the tree mix yet.

Now all there needs to change is from a double stack to a single stack, get a drop style coupler and different tender trucks. Then you'll have a MILW S3 4-8-4 ready for the Avery Drexel route.

Oh, there are lots of changes, including the list you made, that need to be made to make it a proper MILW S3. One of the biggest, actually, is that this locomotive is too tall! It's had an interesting lifespan... starting as a T&E Northern, then SLRR, then MILW.
I guess you never know what's in store for the future.

Nice shots to the rest of you guys, by the way! I'm digging chris2001's C&O Hudson. Pretty neat!

Cheers,
SM

On May 8th, 1989 UP 8444 and SP 4449 put on quite a show as the two engines charged over Cajon Pass, in what was more or less a race between the flagship locomotives of their respective railroads. as they both where heading up grade, the locomotives worked hard to maintain traction and steam pressure. About halfway up however SP 4449 had to fall back due to an overheated bearing, allowing 8444 to take the lead and keep it.
