Skookumchuck - in progress

Just about done with one of the coal mines - just some shrubs and grass left to place..oh and ballast:eek: I know these shots are dim, but the lighting at 6AM was sweet

You really wanna tick off trainz? try uploading screenshots to flikr while the route's still running:hehe:

Thanks - I tried to make it as true to reality as possible in the Pacific Northwest:) I've just installed TS12 and am hammering out the transfer to continue work there (maybe) I thought that since I was moving this into a fresh install it would be a good time to split it and make a multiplayer route also without the 3rd party content but then I'd have to dump all those trees so it was a NO:p I'll be virtually working on 2 versions from here, building in 10 and importing to 12 to check compatability. This could work into a version 1, 1.1, etc.

Ok, huge update - The TS2010 version is still around in that install, but I had some crash-to-desktop problems to work out. Bought and installed TS12 to see if it would be better and got hooked:clap::Y: Still crashed so I did some investigating..... There IS such a thing as too much detail (not so much slideshow fps but just CRASH!) so here's the revised forest

That's a 50% reduction (or so) in trees :hehe: AND I had to get rid of my favorite BN loco (Justin's GP38-2 dirty) @ 67MB each......

So the work plugs on - got another 30mi of minline on there and as soon as I get the last town/industries/texture/trees etc in there'll be a beta release for TS12
Please.... offer any opinions, input, criticism you've got - and I'll be looking for beta testers (with a fairly good PC) soon! :Y:

Ok, so after a complete rebuild of my PC, the route ran well for a bit..... now I'm back to a crash to desktop after 10-11 min in driver......:'( (only happens on this route) Any volunteers for some BETA testing so I can see if it's something with my configuration?? Preferrably someone with a stout PC and plenty of experience with "issues"

Edit - found out the layers merged......... oops........ All my AI traffic was on route layer (still don't see why that would cause a crash) so the work plugs on.... getting closer to a release, maybe in a week or two - still need BETA testing volunteers!!

Hi gearhead. How is the route progressing? Awesome work. Are you still having the shutdown problem.? Could be a thermal issue of some sort.

It was just trainz shutting down to desktop - turned out to be a combination of a limitation within the program itself whereas there was too much detail in the scenery and somwhere along the line the route and session had been merged (bourbon?) and all the AI trains were on the route layer - better now and I've got it nearly done after a complete PC build from scratch...... but wow is my new PC baaad! I put it out unfinished for BETA testing - http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?87677-Beta-Testers-Needed-for-WIP-route

(edit) consequently speaking of thermal I had to rebuild due to the new processor's power needs causing my mobo to melt down - best thing that ever happened!
