Trainz Simulator 12 Requirements

My son is running Trainz 2006 on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine. I would like to purchase v12 for him for Christmas. The specs on our machine is Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20GHZ with an ATI all in wonder x600 series video card. Are these devices compatible with 12?

No, it'll barely run. The CPU is just a hair below minimum. The video card, I believe, is just barely minimum if not a bit below as well. It'll run agonizingly slow.

I have a Pentium D 2.8ghz, same model as yours but a lot slower. When I first got TS12 I had an ATI X-550, very similar to the X600. It ran, but not very well. I've since replaced the video card with an Nvidia 8500GT, so it runs a little better but my 2.8ghz CPU is still a bottleneck slowing everything else down.

So my guess is it will run on your system as-is, but spending $50 bucks or so for a newer faster video card would be an excellent idea. Check your power supply wattage, if it's less than 500 watts that will limit the class of video card you can use.

Sorry to bump, but would trainz 12 run on a 3.4Ghz Pentium 4 HT with 3 gigs of ram and a Geforce GT210 card?
