Roma Street Station and surrounding CBD

I was interested to know whether anyone has built the Brisbane rail system in detail before.

I've noticed there is a QR CityTrain Transdem Map in TS12 content, and I was contemplating importing it into TANE. That is, with a view to create a small layout encompassing Roma Street and 4 or 5 stations in each direction.

However if it has been done before or is under construction, I'd be pleased to know.

Cheers,
Roy

EDIT: I've just attempted importing the QR CityTrain Transdem Map from TS12 into TANE and it's faulty. A 'no show'.

I was also doing some research into the early transport systems of Sydney and came across these shots.
Double-decker trams operating around the Sydney CBD and suburbs. Maybe some forward thinking into the present-day rail network.

NO! I'm not building an old tram route.

Roy

NormP has done most of the South side of the QR network, but his is over a decade old by now. Doesn't even load in TANE. Was a good route for its day, but not so much anymore (no offence intended Norm: your Gold Coast light Rail is of a much higher standard)

Thanks Jamie,
I have checked NormP's track layout of the South-side, but it is basic and does need a lot of scenery work; plus I may not be able to import it into TANE successfully.

Maybe someone has made a more recent start on this.

Cheers mate,
Roy

Pity as the both the steam motor and trailer are on the DLS

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dave, but I'd have my work cut out recreating a pre 1900 layout.

AND, I don't think there is a big demand for something like that. Maybe you and maybe me - that sums it up.

Cheers mate.

Roy,

Ghostryder has been working on and off on the Brisbane suburban network for many years now. He has a detailed version of the inner city (I have a Beta of WIP) and it is set in the 60-70's era. I am not sure when he plans on releasing it, he moved recently and it is a massive project.

Thanks Mark for the feedback. That certainly may be worth following up.

However, since I last posted, I did find NormP's "Brisbane South TRS04" route. I don't know how I missed it before - just looking in the wrong place.

This route appears to be dated about 1970s and covers from Central, to Roma Street, then to the Port in one direction and to Kuraby in the other direction. It is heavily detailed, although with a number of missing and unknown assets,... but I finally tracked them all down except for two. These appeared to be linked with an old QR rolling-stock asset, which I won't even worry about.

Norm has integrated a huge variety of items I had not seen before, which I'll now add to my collection. This is the beauty of learning from other people's experience. Thanks NormP.

I was hoping to do a more modern version, particularly in the Brisbane CBD area, and which has a constantly changing skyline.

Cheers,
Roy

G'day all,
Thanks for the compliment Baz.
Just about done with Wagga, only a bit of dressing up of the Tumbarumba branch to go.
