Amongst the goodly thing here in Britain the benefit of older folk on transport is good. A £30 Seniors rail card for a year gives you a third off all over the place (except Ulster). You can also buy it for 3 years too and a slightly reduced price as well.That is a brilliant card and there are others advertised up here on ScotRail to encourage you. Everyone aged 60 and over gets a free bus pass and it can be used all over Scotland getting on buses free and that includes the cumfy inter-city services. In addition if you show your free bus pass to say a station on the greater Glasgow Rail system you get up to 11 miles for 95 pence and a return for something around £1.40 if my memory serves me right.
