Yes they did, they were used the same way as the f7as (as HEP cars) but instead used trailing the first engine (for example, the gp40-2w)

Just a heads up that an original single level GO Transit Cab Car (#104) has been completely refurbished by GO Transit and will be on display at the Toronto Railway Museum ( www.torontorailwaymuseum.ca and www.trha.ca ) after May 24th 2016. I will post more news over the next week or so here.
