The Illinois Railway Museum Route

nice job kid but your track and levers are a bit wonky
Those will be address once all the scenery is in placed because the google map images are actually scenery assets so if I try to straighten the terrain now, it will raise and lower the images making it difficult to see what I need to place down stuff. So until we finish making all the needed custom scenery assets needed and place everything down, this issue will be put on hold until then.

But there is one thing I am working thats related to track work is editing switch lever types and signals (Im currently still looking for someone to make signals for me) in the mean time. But its been a bit slow because again not much is out there right now to use, so a lot of custom stuff has to be made.

I have a little announcement to make, on Friday this week I'm heading off to Arizona for a mini vacation for a bachelor party (my sister is getting married this summer) and I will be attending the Chicago Cubs Spring Training Games while I'm down there. Ive been very busy getting pack for this trip so that is why its been a bit quite for the past few days, Because of this, All progress on the route has come to a temporary halt until I get back on March 13th. So if anyone who is working on certain projects for me and still need more reference details or drawings, please contact me now because my plane takes off at 1:00PM on Friday and I will be unable to provide stuff until then.

When I get back I will begin working on the route again so stay tuned.

side note, Part 2 of my 2016 IRM videos has been posted, here is the link

Well I finally got back to working on the route, here are some progress shots from today

Did a lot of work today on the area by Seaman Road Crossing (mostly at the horse farm today) adding in more tress, and some more farm related scenery to it.

A look at the farm from another angle. Note the Corn Splines, Im testing out different ones to see which one looks the best and so far, I liked the ones from Dave Snow shown here.

Thanks Pete for the nice comment, glad you like what you see so far. :) Building and editing routes for over 12 years now really helps me cope with a route this size now.

A little scene I set up today to give you a glimpse of what the route might look like when all the scenery is complete and when I actually put down the ground textures after I remove the google map pieces.

More progress will be done on the route tomorrow so as always, stay tuned. :)

Thanks Matt, Glad you look forward to the finished as much as I am, Which each piece of custom scenery content made is a step closer to reaching the end goal. Im so thankful to both BlackDiamond1964 and Bendorsey for helping me get to this point, without them I don't know what I would had done by now. :)

Hello everyone. Got a lot to show you today so lets get started.

First off Scott aka Blackdiamond1964 has made excellent progress on the IRM Diner (Plus big thanks to IRM Volunteer Jason R Maxwell for helping us out with the Door Textures)

Also a new content creator member (From down under in Australia) named Steven has join the team and is going to help out make Rolling Stock for the route. Here is his first project, a C&NW Bay Window wooden caboose.

Wow Matt good route. I think we can agree with Aiden in some ways. That caboose is looking top notch though.

cheers, Nate

Matt asked me to do a reskin of Tuskegee Engine #101, a 2-6-2 Prairie. This particular locomotive used to operate in excursion service on the IRM before it's retirement.

This one was a little tricky and required custom bogey attachment points for the drivers. I'll have to alpha channel out some areas of the rods as they clips into the piston.

Here is the locomotive so far:

And posed next to my other IRM steamer, UP #428:

Nice job on it so far daylightrain, I really like what see, keep up the good work, plus the number is wrong, yours says 11 instead of 101.
