Update: I have begun work on the front pilot.

The headlight and marker lights have been wired up.

Alot of work needs done. However, gmax is limited to tools. As for spokes,I have upclose photos of the wheels and they are cylinderical. The tanks on top are the the torpedo tubes. Have yet research what are lol.
 
I'm curious, have you tried using the smoothing tool, because parts of the locomotive look more polygonal than smooth
 
I have but mesh smoothing makes the polygon look stand out more. Once its neaely done I will add more sides to the cylinders of the locomotive(anything cylindrical that is) but not to much to were it becomes over loaded with polygons.
 
I have tried the smoothing but it doesnt effect the parts other then making them stand out more. I do wish i was smart enough to finally understand animating lol

I have rebuilt the bell, and personally I think it lookss better. The bell is also something i was experimenting Unwrapped UVW textures with. The bell is all one texture now, Which means I have learned yet another thing in gmax.
