OUCH

*winces* Ouch indeed, although, theoretically, it'd be insured and all that, quite possibly the shipping companys insurance would be liable for this, if they've provided the lifting apparatus, etc, but yeah - ouch indeed.

it seems that the cables/slings of that crane were not properly placed on both the front and rear end of the locomotive before lifting it off of the ship and then gently placing it on the rails, good luck at trying to speak to your boss on saving your job!:n:

To me it looks like the Chassis is bent when it hit the ground which now makes it a write off, if it didn't bend then it can be rebuilt, seen allot of photo's of locomotives getting badly damaged in crashes/derailments and rebuilt running again in a few months as long as the Chassis is fine, once it's bent that's it.

*as Murry Walker would say, of cause these cars don't have on board starters, once you've stalled and I think he has that's it*

Pretty much the same when it comes to Chassis of a locomotive, once it's bent that's it.

Don't think it's the same shipping company but a Class 70 (70012) was written off in a similar manner when it was delivered a few years back:
