Hi,

I need a big help. I don't know if this has been covered already but i have windows Vista and i'm having problems with Trainz 2006. everything thats on the discs work but when i download things off of the dls they download but when i try to start them in trainz they dont appear. when i go back to manage content the downloads aren't in my system anymore. another problem is with the Marias Pass Route that I have and it does the same thing. I follow the instruction step by step and they dont load in trainz. Can someone please tell me a solution to this?

Thank You very Much in advance.

What's the exact message you are getting?

Are your running TRS2006 and have patched to SP1 (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=81)?

I have had trs2006 with sp1 and the same thing happened. the only error message that I receive is when I open up Manage Content. when I do that a message comes up saying "Unable to register Trainz URL registry key". I am running TRS2006 right now.

Thank You in Advanced

Contact helpdesk (http://www.auran.com/helpdesk/) about it.

But the answer to your question is in that thread and it does work.

Have you registered your copy of TRS2006? If so you should be able to see a more detailed explanation of how to get TRS2006 to run under Vista in This (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=7345) post.

If you have registered TRS2006, and still can't access the links given then you need to follow up with the Helpdesk. There are some registered users having problems accessing all the forums, and the Helpdesk may add you to that list. Hopefully they can also provide you with details of the Trainz under Vista installation requirements.

If you are getting this message when you start cmp in Windows Vista you can stop it from happening by going into the folder
/Program files/Auran/TRS2006/Bin and selecting the cmp application file.

Select the properties page for the file and then select the compatibility page. On this page at the bottom is the privilege Level, select "run this program as an administrator" . Select apply and then ok.

It has been suggested in another forum post that you should do this for the other applications in this folder as well but I have only done it for the following application files -
CCP
CCPConsole
ContentManager
trainzutil

What will happen is when you start content manager you will have to allow it if you have UAC turned on but you wont get the error message anymore.

If you are unsure about doing this ask for help so that you dont change the wrong files.

That enough to answer your question?

I found the easiest way round this particular issue is to r-click on the program shortcut on the Desktop and select 'run as administrator'. Every process started from that link (including CMP, surveyor, driver, etc.) will then run with ellevated privileges. Shouldn't be necessary to fiddle with individual program files.

I am still confused! I have tried over and over to run TRS2006 as an administrator and the "unable to load trainz URL registry key" message still keeps popping up. It also won't let me download anything from download station because every time I try, that message pops up. Please help me!!!
