View Full Version : splines question

I've recently downloaded those awesome grass splines (FMA) and they really work wonders.

I do have one question though, and I don't know that there is an answer, but here goes:

In the pic below:

the grass spline seems to stop a bit down the track. In fact, it does continue much further on, but these splines seem to disappear after two "sections" in the distance. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to make them appear further away (My drawdistances are all up to full), so they don't just "appear" as you approach them. The viewable distance for these splines seems to be about 20 meters or so.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging them - just wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks

I get this also. Hope there is a way to increase the rendering-distance on these awesome splines.

I don't know how many times I've explained this to people.
I've lost count. :D

All you need to do is edit the config.txt file of the asset and delete the Unit_Mesh line.

This will stop the asset using the equivalent of LOD for splines, but the downside is that it will affect your framerates as they draw well into the distance.

Give it a try and see if your computer can handle it.

There are a whole series of different mat sizes. The first one in the series is FMA instant grass a 30x20, kuid2:149987:37009:1. The last one is FMA instant grass w 60x3, kuid2:149987:37045:1.

Simple.
Don't delete the "mesh" line, delete the "Unit_Mesh" line as stated above.

It's already been stated twice in this thread but I'll state it again for those who just can't be bothered to read.

Delete the "Unit_Mesh" line.

It does work - after you delete the line in all of the splines, ensure that you delete the cache as well.

Go into Auran - TRS2004 - cache. Delete all the .chump files.

Then restart trainz and it will rebuild the splines.

Hope that helps.
