If I recall rightly, Coerni's superb tram was created for a private contract, and is not for publication...:( I don't know if the same is true for the tram and underground stops...
Anyway, some of you may have seen some of these before...

This is two Light Rail Transit cars crossing the River in my Home city of Edmonton Canada. On the high bridge you will see a rebuilt 1930's Streetcar that came from China and is in operation today.
The subway portion of the LRT route is between 60ft and 90ft below ground to clear the downtown buildings and The University of Alberta Campus and includes 6 stations below ground and another 8 at ground level and is 22km long.

@Screamingman14 - If you're asking me, then the trams are as follows:
The all white one is an Alsthom Citadis by Denis_fr on the DLS. Search "Citadis".
The blue and white one is a Belgian LRV by Cosey on the DLS. There are lots of versions of this - search for the creator, cos I can't remember their name.
The last white and orange one is a GT6, which is from Modula City (payware), but included in TRS06.
All of the others are from: http://www.barowa.tubaza.net/PTram/index.php which has stacks of European trams - all superb.
@Compudoc - I too would like to know what the building in your second shot is... Superb shots by the way - I'll have to look out for your new route!
@JShaw / PVincent - Those Boston LRVs have a passing resemblance to the LRVs on the (London) Docklands Light Railway (in fact there is a reskin of one into DLR colours on the DLS). The Docklands LRVs are exactly the kind of thing you are looking for - small, 3rd rail and running around very tight corners...
And now some pictures... these are from my Westhaven Trams route on the DLS...

Yes i do have the DLR reskins but one part of them isnt working so i was running the boston ones in a similar arrangement until i can download the DLR ones again.
I sort of based my route on the DLR because i use it quite often in real life.

The track and el supports can be found under JJS. You can use it under Username, Title, or Description.
That route you see is having problems right now. I made a post about in the Content Creations called "Missing Layout". I recovered the layout but I lost some progress. The area in the pics is uneffected.

The support beams for the elevated track are called "elevated railway support".

There's a good reason why LU use C stock on the Circles and Edgware-Wimbledon Districts. The D stock cars are longer and fowl the curves on sections of line between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington.

Three from the route I'm doing. This route has the tram lines signalled and divided into block sections in a similar way to a railway. The first two images show a Westhaven tram trundling past the terraces, with the third being an on-board shot as we pass Leeds 180 at the town centre. In the distance is the final section leading to the railway station.
As usual, click to see the bigger pic.

Another tram enters the stable - a former Glasgow tram. I've deliberately left clues to its past to give a short history. Bought from Glasgow and repainted, but leaving its red bogies and underframe. The roof has been turned grey, in contrast to its old nickname "wee baldie".
Unfortunately, it doesn't skin quite as well as the others, and I need to contact Silversmith about the bogey (an email will get fired off just after this post is written, then I'm off to watch Life on Mars).

Thanks. That tram actually looks better when in driver (trams were never built to be stuffed and mounted were they?), so I will be releasing it when I sort the screenshot (will do that in a few minutes - but it will be on my own layout). Next are some enclosed bogie trams, then I'll take a look at the former Paisley tram. At some point I'll finish the Chesterfield tram as well, but it isn't as interesting.
Going for a play with trams - expect more screens soon...

(trams again, by rjhowie)
It's a bit Westhaven dominated, but there are a few listings in there that you might find interesting.
The trams in my shot before are my own skins of Silversmith's; and are/will be shortly available at the DLS (I know you didn't want them specifically, but I enjoy a good shameless plug http://forums.auran.com/trainz/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif).
Finally, your English is much better than any of my 2nd, 3rd etc languages, so don't feel the urge to apologise.

Here, we see the bridge over the railway with Leeds 180 heading out of town. You can see the terraces behind. Second is a view towards the station from the upper deck of the same tram. Finally, this image must say a lot about me, but here we see where the terraces meet with the newer semis, seperated by the tramway. The cricket pitch is visible in the corner (fancy making some crickiters, Shoves?)

In these three, we firstly see the former Glasgow tramcar (now Westhaven 7) approaching the town centre, with the depot to the back right of the shot. Secondly, we see the same tram approaching the station (and terminus) after passing through the streets of shoppers. Finally, we see Leeds 180 at the other terminus among an early 20th centuary build of semis seperated by an open green space (and the mainline railway).

On the left, we see another shot of the road crossing by the station, and then the same tram rolling along the main street. Finally, we see leeds 180 dropping down the hill towards the main town.

I've only actually got one other shot to hand, so here it is:
http://lh3.google.com/image/bidmod/Rjx_QBDW-NI/AAAAAAAAAiU/pv1j9z5UCs8/s288/Screen_400%20copy.jpg (http://picasaweb.google.com/bidmod/Trainz/photo?authkey=tn5veDCoIGA#5061059994394753234)
A HAA coal train passes under the tramway, with the 1930s development in the background.
Comments:
The route is still in quite early developent, and where practical I've only used DLS assets. However, there are a few non-DLS assets in there, such as the tram signals and some of the stock you see here (some of my trams and Pikka's HAA wagons).
Also bear in mind that the latest of Bloodnok's signals have yet to be uploaded as well, but these are easily sourced. The route is unlikely to be released until after the next installment of Bloodnok's signals, as I have a use for the 2A signals (I will replace the 2ATs that are in their place now). You can see that there is a mix of conventional tramway signals and the 2 aspect railway signals. This is because I am making this for me rather than for you, but I could easily do two versions if desired.
At the moment the layout is quite small and can currently run three trams at a time, using the "control track at trackmark" commands to keep them apart. I might extend some of the loops to allow more to run at a time, but the whole system will have an extension at one end (the early 1900s semis end) and run parallel to the main railway line (until it dives into a tunnel).
I'm afraid that this will be an '06 layout, unless I get the time to rig it for '04. This is because I do not have enough time (patience neither) to look at all of the assets to see if they will work. This said, I will place a copy on my webspace (you'll still need the assets from the DLS to make it work to prevent unlicensed [sp?] version holders using it) so non-06 users can have a crack at it themselves.
Railway:
There is a railway in this layout, as you can see, and although the mainline is a portal -> station -> portal type job there will be a branch down into a sequence of valleys to one side. Though it will have a horrible grade all the way down though, so I don't know how the AI will handle it when complete.
Finally:
The era of this layout is simply set as "recent" -> you can clearly see here there are the latest railway traffic with modern cars and streets, and some of the finest early 20th centuary trams running through the middle. How you use it is completely up to you.
The layout is still a little bland texture-wise, so this will be changed shortly as my next task after the branch reaches its terminus, and the mainline is completely finished. As I said above, I will also look at extending the tramway. Currently, a round trip takes about 12min, which is great from an operational point of view for the first few times, but then it gets a little boring. It has been fun to build though. I often start layouts but don't finish them because I lose interest, and I'm still working on this one.

Hey Paulzmay
I was wondering when your new layout will be up to download.
And on a sidenote. I promised some pictures of one of my tram layours a while back but since then I have had to do a lot of work on remodelling it all. Expect some pictures sometime in the future.
I am currently working on a futuristic view of how the centre of Birmingham may look if all the proposed Metro lines are implemented. Its taking a long time because Birmingham is a very fiddley centre.

@Sleaze - Don't hold your breath  There is still a lot to do, and I'm very slow, and something of a perfectionist. It should be this year for phase 1 (hopefully early Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere). It will depend on me getting a new computer, as my current one struggles, and is infected by some rather nasty trojans  I'm also working on the next phase of the Westhaven route, which my computer can cope with...
I look forward to seeing your future B'ham route - I lived there for many years, and occasionally used the tram to get to work in the Jewellery Quarter.

Hey since this is the tram forum and you all like trams so much I might as well ask here instead of else where. Does anyone know if a jerkwater has been made for trainz? Jerkwater- a tram that jerks around corners.
Jerkwaters as my aunt calls them were found in Baltimore around the time Mount Royal was a train station. And also are there any tolley busses from that same time period in trainz?
As for the pictures. Until I recover totally from my after easter computer meltdown I have nothing for ya sorry.

The roads and pavements are part of Andi06's street kit, laid onto an asphelt or bitumen texture on the ground. The station looks like it has been cobbled together (that doesn't sound as complementary as it should - I apologise) from some inbuilt items and a platform spline from the DLS. The canopy is one of those found under MS station in both '04 and '06, but the exact name of both escapes my memory.

BidMod's practically right.
The station is Andi06's station kit with a German plaform by -Basti-. Track is by Andi06, with the catenary laid seperately.
The tram is by Cosey, and is on the DLS in several variants.

Here's some pics from a project I've had bubbling around for just over a couple of weeks. I think there are possibly some Westhaven influences in here too :), but also those typical of market towns across the country - the narrow streets being lined with old and new buildings right next to each other, and including both upmarket and run down areas just around the corner from each other. For example, the nice flats in the second pic back onto the factory on the third.
1) The historic high street - this vehicle free road goes between a set of older buildings (some containing independant stores, some nationwide chains) with trams in either direction every few minutes.
http://lh3.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rue_sa_uj1I/AAAAAAAAAtI/Ew8MaTQHb_U/s800/tram-high-street.JPG
2) The new flats - a brownfield development has seen a large number of flats appear on top of the old terraces (more about them later) and the trams continue on their original course through the middle. You can see this is also vehicle free - following directly on from the high street. The cars cross the tramway in the middle of this shot. I have to admit, I'd like to live in one of these flats - they have everything going for them.
http://lh3.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rue_ua_uj2I/AAAAAAAAAtQ/Wfi7TKj4AB8/s800/tram-high-street%202.JPG
3) Old Terraces - this terrace is one of several still remaining. In the background you can see on of the factories that could have dominated the area in the past, now looking very dishevelled. Here, the tramway runs anti clockwise along the side of the road, allowing trams to stop whilst cars can contine past unimpeded - a contrast to the crowded modern hight street (not pictured 'cos it's not finished)
http://lh4.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rue_xq_uj4I/AAAAAAAAAtg/DSz-0yhZw-A/s800/Streetrunning4.JPG
Also not pictured is the station area, and the railway spur to the industrialised areas of town.
Don't expect this to be finished anytime too soon - I'm only on to the third board, and one of those doesn't even have trams on! Where possible, I'm interlocking the tram movements with the traffic lights, but there are two places where it is possible for trams and cars to pass through each other, and indeed where trams and trams can pass through over one of the diamonds I was trying to avoid.

The rest of the layout is still quite basic and unfinished unfortunately. These three areas here I concentrated on a bit so I had something to show. I'll get an overall shot next time I launch Trainz so you can see how it fits together.
You should have mail from me by the way :)

I've found one of the modern high street. Trams run clockwise on this section, making up part of a figure of 8 layout. The other part of the loop runs along the far side of the tall building just inside the draw distance, with the historic high street peeling away to the left at the same point.
You can see here how the PW isn't finished - I still need to place the poles and cables for the overhead system.
I also think Clinton has about 3 outlets in this town :hehe:

As threatened: and overview shot.
This shot shows how much I keep the performance sliders turned down, and also how far from completion this really is. Below is the harbour, and above is the main railway station. I'm in the process of filling out the background with an inordinate number of quarter-villas.
In this shot, you can see how the historic high street meets the new flats, with the old factories and brewery nestling in the older terraces.
http://lh4.google.co.uk/bidmod/RuqyQ6_uj5I/AAAAAAAAAuA/v4cxsrU8N1Y/s800/Hawthorn%20Overview.JPG
When I've finished the Brewery area (next task), I'll post a screenshot, and the same for the harbour area (looking a few weeks down the line). If anyone's looking for a technique to avoid the effect where the water masks a sea wall, model the coast at low tide - many harbours in British towns have never been fitted with a deep-draft jetty for use at low tide, so the boats are just beached until the water comes back.
For example, Ilfracombe Harbour - note this does have a deep-jetty, at the front right of the picture, but the inner section behind the sea wall does give you the idea I'm trying to recreate.
If someone has any pictures of Clovelly, or Porlock Weir [sp?], then these are better examples. My layout will not include any deep water facilities.

Two more shots around the brewery area, to prove I'm not letting this one lie and I am actually doing something :o (I was just adding another station to the main railway an hour ago, but that's far from finished).
Close-up of the brewery and warehouses (note how lazy BidMod is still putting off the hardest part - texturing the ground):

Violetz,
I've been studying Paul's exquisite screenshots, and I think that I might be able to help you a bit.
The roads on his last shot are part of Andi06's street kit, as are the traffic lights, which allow you to interface the trams and road traffic. More on his page here:http://www.ajsmith.nildram.co.uk/trs/ EDIT: direct link here: http://www.ajsmith.nildram.co.uk/trs/street01.shtml
He's also used the setted splines by Brook, which you can see clearer in my own shots of the historic high street, and I imagine he's also used his own road-products.
Perhaps for the best idea of what he's done, you should download Westhaven Trams, which is a brilliant layout :D, but a rather large download . There's a thread linking to all the miscellaneous bits here: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=3772. I've also skinned some trams for it, but there's currently no session for them.

BidMod.

@Violetz - Bidmod has hit the nail on the head. In addition I have used road items by engfer, mgreen48 and mcortes, all from the DLS. I have added a heightrange line to the config file of the mgreen48 junctions to allow them to be lowered by 0.3 - this stops them floating in mid-air...
Westhaven is a fair demonstration of what can be done, but it is by no means the limit of what can be achieved - my new Bridgehampton route pushes the boundaries far more...
And one more while I'm here...

Hi,
[quote=paulzmay;171509I have added a heightrange line to the config file of the mgreen48 junctions to allow them to be lowered by 0.3 - this stops them floating in mid-air...[/quote]
Another way of creating junctions is to use the handed splines - I'll show you, using a skewed juntion:
http://lh4.google.co.uk/bidmod/RvKquKIJnVI/AAAAAAAAAz4/NKOuITLKv1E/s400/Jct1.JPG Firstly, apply the "straighten track" tool to the roadways at the edge of the junction.
http://lh3.google.co.uk/bidmod/RvKqs6IJnUI/AAAAAAAAAzw/COZUNHPQM0Y/s400/Jct2.JPG Then start to add the handed splines between each end section.
http://lh5.google.co.uk/bidmod/RvKqraIJnTI/AAAAAAAAAzo/v4uDdFVNlAo/s400/Jct3.JPG Finally, add extra spline points if necessary to hide any small gaps in the middle, and also smooth the corners.
Hope that helps someone,
BidMod.

Excuse my ignorrance but how exactly do you add the wording in the config table. I would love to be able to sink the intersections!
paulzmay
September 21st, 2007, 05:14 AM
@Bolivar - add the line height-range -500,500 to the config.txt file. 500 can be whatever you like. This also works well for many industries and other items...
@BidMod - that's a useful additional method - I find it handy for making roundabouts. I tend to get a flicker where the splines overlap, so I raise or lower some spline points by a tiny fraction (0.01 or so). This reduces the problem substantially...

(The square remained an important tram junction to date, in 2008 the following tramlines are crossing it: 4,6,18,56,59,61,118)

Heres some more pics of the stations I use for this line in the Bronx part of my layout. The (4) train in this layout is similar to the real one but has some differences that set them apart. The station shown here is167 Street.Good morning Heaven7,
are you really interested knowing the name of the single station, of about 5 (five) images were posted? What if you would read the original message carefully? :hehe: And if You asking please do not cite all the images included in the original message...

Here's a layout I've been working on for a while. It's a fictional version of the NYC Subway. I still have a lot of work to do so the scenery is low. This is only a small part of it. It's real big.http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6980/trainzsubwayjamaicablvdtl8.jpg

It's all a bunch of objects bunched together to make a station. The tracks are JJS. They don't have a third rail, that's a separate spline.

To those who frequent the UKTrainz forum, you'll have already seen these but:
http://images.fotopic.net/ylf4wj.jpg
A District Line D-Stock approaching South Kensington
http://images.fotopic.net/ylf4wl.jpg
A Circle Line (Yes, to those who know LUL it should be C-Stock but that doesn't exist yet) enters Bayswater
http://images.fotopic.net/ylf4wm.jpg
And one at Notting Hill Gate

And Gloucester Road

At Monument
http://images.fotopic.net/ylf4w0.jpg
Next to a Thameslink Liveried Class 313 at Moorgate
http://images.fotopic.net/ylf407.jpg
And Finally at Tower Hill
I have a few questions to ask about your screenshots:
1. Where did you get that D-Stock?
2. Where did you get that route?
3. Where did you get that Thameslink train?
4. What version of trainz are these things compatiable with?
Please reply as soon as possible.

1. The D Stock is found here.
http://www.ajsmith.nildram.co.uk/trs/stock04.shtml
2. It's a route of all of the routes through London (yes every single one)
3. From the UKTrainz forums but the link expired ages ago.:(

Almost, The Thameslink Train can be downloaded from http://www.skodatrainz.co.uk .
Everything is compatible with TRS2004 but the route is still very WIP and will not be available directly via the DLS as it is over 100MB in size (not to say I won't release it some other way). I'm also having to go through the route changing a lot of stations as AFAIK the HVV content is no longer available and the HVV site has gone offline, meaning (in order for me to release the route) I have to change LOTS of things. If you want more screenshots of the route and updates on how it's going, I'd suggest going over to http://www.forum.uktrainz.co.uk
and if you go to the Content-Routes section of the forum, look for the thread called "You'd have thought I was MAD"

In this map I use FMA Paris buildings, but only in centre(I use polish buildings too). Town is more Polish than French(without centre). Relate to tram, repaint is only for my private use and isn't published on any site. That is according with license I think. Tram is really in Tenerife paint scheme. I saw it o TWB gallery and I like it.

Well spotted boleamj! That is indeed a Correos de España letterbox. The Mercedes van however carries the logos of Posten (the Swedish post service). Now why have I got those on a German themed layout? Anyone know where I can find a German letterbox? I think I will re-skin the Swedish post van into "Deutsche Post" - watch this space.

Where can I find those tram stop shelters? Also, how did you get that Tram to work, I downloaded all the files yet it still doesn't appear in game, must be missing something.

Freightcar2, The trams in the first pic are from : http://www.tramtrainz.net/TS2009/infusions/pro_download_panel/download.php?catid=2
The orange tram in the second pic is on the DLS under BN UD LRVand BN BD LRV by Cosey. There are lots of these in various liveries.
The trams in all the rest are from the DLS. All but the last are Brisbane drop centre trams (Yay!) available on the DLS by motorman1066. There are all kinds on there by him...
-Dropcentre
-Four Motor (FM)
-Dreadnaught
-Baby Dreadnaught
-Phoenix
Hope this helps. ;)

Will they work in Trainz Classics? Because I saw that it said that they are compatible, but where do you find all of the dependencies to make them work? I can't find kuid:316:20019, I can't find it anywhere. Can someone help me find it?

I can half help you. That looks like connyxy's stuff as her real name is Conny Lubing. She made some great stuff but disappeared for a while. Maybe she is back, I don't know. I think with her, she releases if and when she wants...

that is conny's layout as far as i recognise from one of her posts quite a bit ago. i do hopse she returns. she's made some excellent stuff, which i am unfortunately, not able to access at the moment. i've always wondered why conny took all of her stuff away from the sites like TRS bingen etc. i would've like to download it all. also some routes use her things, and as they are no longer available. i end up with a load of missing dependencies

Out of the random blues, why does the first thread say its from 1970?
The internet wasn't around then (i don't think) and Trainz most certainly wasn't!

Actually, the net was implemented in the 60's .... But, I think that's a good catch from your end .... 70's thread .... that's going back in time -- you should have seen the NYC system ... Graffiti heaven in those days!!
