Hi,
Launched first layout under hawes junction in trs2006 and found black & yellow wheel in upper right corner next to dcc controls. when I switch to other consists that are already scripted, this does not show up. When I go back to manual locomotive and start scripting at the bottom of the screen, the consist starts to do what I ask and images begin appearing in the wheel in place of the black & yellow fan blades. What is this and where is it documented? I could not find anything in the manual that came with my DVD tin. Thanks,
=gerry=

Simulated Automatic Warning System, to make sure the driver acknowledges passing yellow signals (I think). There's a button in the Class 37 cab (to the right of the meters/gauges) that resets it. I'm sure the knowledgeable ones from UK will clarify this...

Have a look here for details of the AWS system in the Hawes Junction route.

The feature was not finalised until after the manual went to print and so was not included in any of the documentation.

Here in Germany you have a different system, with locomotives of the same age (in this example a VT96) there is a sort of pedal you keep your foot on or you hold down the throttle knob, this is known as the totemansknopf (dead mans knob). If you let go of whichever you are holding and you don't continue to depress it after 5 seconds the engine assumes you are dead and applies the emergency brakes.
