Game keeps freezing at start

I just purchased this awesome game and installed it on my PC. The installation went fine through all three discs. When I go into the railyard I have no problems but when I try to run the main game,(scenarios), the game freezes up and I have to do a manual log off to shut my PC down. :( Does anyone know what's the problem and how can I fix this??

Odd - my copy of '04 has 2 disks, and '06 has 5 CDs or 1 DVD. Which version are you using (usually useful to include this if you have problems with the game).

I am using Trainz 2006 which came with 3 discs. I don't think they are DVD's. I am at work and do not have the game with me.

Well my version of TRS2006 has 5 Cd's. Just wondering if you have bought the Driver version which does not have the surveyor part which means you can't create anything.

Yes, I think I have the driver version. Is this an add-on that does not work without the main program?

No I think its just not a full version of Trainz but runs on itself.

Hi 95Fleetwood,

Without more information, no one will be able to give you any kind of a meaningful answer. What we need is the type of computer, amount of ram, type of video card and amount of memory on it, the operating system you are running (XP with SP1 or SP2, Vista, Win98, what ever), and the exact version of the software (you will get this when you first start the game - it will say trainz build #### and whether there are any service packs applied).

Please post this information and we will have more to consider to answer you.

Let's try to help you:

1) Which of these versions of TRS do you have?

1a) If the left hand one - is SP1 installed (according to the exact letters of the instructions)?

2) Have you tried switching between OpenGL and DirectX (If you don't understand this question, please ask - we're happy to explain)?

3) When you say the main game - do you mean Survayer or Driver (not sure what options you get in Trainz Driver, so possibly ignore this question).
