View Full Version : Trouble with 0-6-0 Locos

Over the last year I have downloaded 4 or 5 0-6-0 type steam locos from the download station, the latest being the B & O 0-6-0 #353. Each of them appear to have been downloaded OK, show up in the Railyard list, but display no image when selected. When I try to place one on track in Surveyor it will not appear. The corresponding tenders do work and can be placed on track. Whats's wrong?

Do I need to download each of those KUID's individually?

Do you have 04 or 06? The answer is different for each one.
Usually the Download Helper will hunt down the dependant assets automatically, but sometimes it misses things. In TRS2004, you need to get Trainz Objects. It can do a search for missing dependancies and help you find them on the DLS.
I don't know how CMP works in TRS06, but I think it does all of that itself. An 06 user should be able to help you with more details.

In CMP just click the bad loco and right click to select 'view dependencies'. If any are missing it will identify them. Also right click to select 'view errors' if is not greyed out. The list will tell you what is wrong.

Ok, I checked the missing dependencies and it shows 8 unknown and 7 broken. Is there a way to repair those or download them again? Is anyone else having the same problem with these locos?

Hi -
I'm having the same problem, and no, I don't have a solution.
I'll downloaded various 0-6-0s, both the loco and tender. Sometimes the loco shopws up, ut not the tender. Sometines the tender shows, but not the loco. I've tried all the suggesyions above, but none seem to work for me.
If you can find a solution, please post.
Thanks
BJ

If you give us the kuids perhaps some one can assist.

These KUID's and other data was sent to me by another forum member. Maybe they will help.
Thanks.

Your list of kuids are dependencies used on lots of different locos. What is the name and kuid number of the 0-6-0 that you're haveing a problem with?

Hi Bob. Thanks for your reply. I am having problems with all of the steam locos in the 0-6-0 configuration. I have tried most of them. The latest was a Baltimore and Ohio 0-6-0.

Its interesting. because I'm having a problem with only some of the 0-6-0s I know for certian the NYC one does not work. but the DE&L one does. teh tenders for the NYC work fine. oh and CMP shows no errors or missing dependancies.

Hallo

This object markr <kuid:39730:60002> not is present on DLS.

Where I can to find it? ThankUserId 39730 is Klausm and his items are no longer available. You'll have to substitute another corona of the same color for any that are referenced in the config. This is an old problem.

These locos were covered in depth in the old forums. Some one with a better memory than mine will have to reply where to find all this stuff now.

I just downloaded the following 2 B&O 0-6-0 swichers:
Baltimore & Ohio 0-6-0 1197,<kuid:45588:1197>
Baltimore & Ohio 0-6-0 353,<kuid2:45588:1353:1>
Baltimore & Ohio 0-6-0 1197 tender,<kuid2:45588:15397:1>
Baltimore & Ohio 0-6-0 353 tender,<kuid2:45588:15399:1>
all commit without error. Put them on a test track and they run ok. One note, in Cab mode I couldn't get keyboard keys to control it, had to use the levers in the cab.

The broken ones can be fixed, for starters go to Trainz assett Repair Library (TARL). There you can see if the fixes are posted, also there are some great tutorials on fixing Errors.
Also if you post the kuid of the file with the error we maybe able to help you here. As for missing content, try google for the KUID or the creators name. Also if you will look in the config for the asset it may have an E-mail or website where you can contact the creator.

I don't think I've managed to track down a single missing asset using Google. Most of the time it seems to be just dumb luck that I find the necessary fixes, or sometimes I just have to mangle the asset's config to force things to work...

I didn't know about TARL, I'll have to check it out.

edit - thanks for the coronas... seems to have sorted out a bunch of stuff.

Does anyone know of any good 3rd-party tools that can scan for missing dependencies and produce a .txt file containing the necessary info?

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I am missing some of the assets listed here that were available from comcast, but they now return a 404 page error. Is there anywhere else I can get hold of them from?

Thanks,

Klaus Mallorny's content is available from http://www.malorny.de/vrails/dl-trainz.jsp . I would guess that the coronas ar e in the colour light signal pack.
