Transferring 2006 to 2004

I know this is a well worn subject but what is the procedure for transfering rolling stock from 06 to 04 .I know it was on the old forum but did a search of this one and came up without an answer.

Using CMP, right click the desired traincar and select 'save to CDP' and save to a temp folder. Repeat for all the traincars you intend to copy to TRS2004. Then open explorer and find ..\Auran\TRS2004\Bin\TrainzHelper.exe, double click it, verify the correct path to TRS2004, and click save. Now go to the temp folder and double click each CDP file to install into TRS2004. Finally, delete the ..\Auran\TRS2004\Cache\World_cache_dispatcher.chum p file. If any problems show up run TO to solve.

Thanks Bob, jogged the memory of the last time i downloaded from 06
however this time i got a message "cannot add the item as it is a built in item."

Does that mean that it is part of a route and that is what has to be downloaded.

You can't export built-in items. Usually it's a bogey. You can try finding the offending item on the DLS. I've found it easier to do that instead of trying to export '06 stuff.
