You must choose the merge route function from the surveyor options menu...was that fast enough?

Actually, Come to think of it, I've Never Known about this Merge Thing.

Any Explanations on It's Location? :(

You can merge maps in both 2006 and 2009, as Euphod said, but there are a couple things to consider (my comments re 2009 are based on experience prior to the latest patch):

Both versions: After the merge, you may have a good deal of maintenance of way work. A few switch stands disappear or are moved far away from the switch points. You may lose a section of track. Often, the join between regular track and the track (dock) for an interactive industry will break. Sometimes these breaks are visible, more often they are not. One way to find these problems is to place an engine at point A on the map and give it an AI command to drive to point B. If the line between is Ok, it'll start off. If not, the Info button at the lower right will flash and may tell you something. At any rate, if the engine won't move, you know there is some kind of break between points A & B.

2006 only: After making a merge, you may find that the merged map appears to be in read-only mode. You cannnot change that. Any map changes that you want to make from then on require saving the map under a new name - and then the next change means another new name, etc. That's not too bad, but then you also have to keep changing kuid numbers in the config.txt files of any sessions that you want to carry along from version to version.

2009 only: (this might have been fixed with the last patch - if not, the dev team is working on it). See this thread http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=34834.

This is an old feature. TRS04 also breaks off industries. Since they still haven't figured out how to stop that, it's now officially a feature, simulating the adjustments real railroads have to make after a merger.:D
