One of the cool new features for Trainz 2009 is the Trainz Online module. This includes a screenshots gallery (http://online.ts2009.com/gallery.php5) where you can upload your in-game screenshots and search other people's galleries. There is still a bit of work to do but you will see that we've made a good start already.

We'd like to ship 50-100 of the best screenshots as part of the built-in content and so we'd like everyone to submit their favorite screenshot to this thread. From there we'll work out a way to cull the number down to a good cross section of "popularity" but also "regionality". I.e. we'd like something from lots of different regions to be included and not, for example, 10 shots from one route.

Thanks for your help.

Edit:
- The screenshots can be from any version of Trainz, but preference will be given to shots from TS2009.
- no limit on # of screenshots but we will probably only choose one or two per user/route/loco. (i.e. we want a good range of shots)
- manipulation in photohsop is fine as long as it is clearly noted
- which reminds me of something very important I forgot to mention. Each screenshot needs:
- a Title
- a description (up to 150 characters)
- one or more tags (tags are keywords that peple can use to search for screenshots.

Some examples of useful tags would be, loco name, loco type (diesel, steam, railcar etc), railroad, route name, region, scene description (e.g. sunset, bridge, water, mountains etc). Basically anything that you would like to search for that might help people find you shot.

Sounds good Tony, I'll get some Aussie stuff on here soon. Does the size of the image matter?

Size only matters to those that ..no, no. hang on, wrong forum .. ;)

The upload function creates a number of resized images to suit your screen resolution so I don't think there are any limit. TS2009 defaults to 1024x768 but taking shots at 1280 or 1600 probably helps "just in case" we need the images elsewhere.

That's a good start Steve. We're going to have to get some "ground texture 101" classes going tohelp people upgrade the resolution for the close-to-ground shots.

While there are some fine shots in this thread, I have to wonder if there is even a point posting to it anymore? I haven't seen anything that would indicate the community aspect of 2009 is even being worked on any longer. I realize TrainzDev is still trying to iron out more bugs for SP2, but correct me if I'm wrong when I say the momentum of the rest of the features has seemed to have fallen by the wayside.

Yes, overgrown rails with trees on either side and plenty of grass and weeds; very nice. Both are fine pictures to hang on the wall.

Would I want to stutter a train through that route? Not likely.;)

Answered via MP too... ;)

As for the first one on Surie's shot, I can't tell you the whereabouts of the red trolley (but I'm sure that our friend Surie can tell straightforward).

I can lead you to the second one because it is part our catalogue at IBerTrainz. A huge pack of Lisbon tramcars. You'll love them, for sure and for Surie :hehe: .

Each screenshot needs:- a Title

Has this "feature" ever been finished? Because I still don't understand how to use it.
