When Useing Google Earth I can save the placemark & image but when I open them up in Trans Dem , then connvert them all I get in Trainz is a flat map

Did you complete the "Muengsten" tutorial (TransDEM Trainz manual)? As shown in the tutorial you will need the DEM to shape your terrain. There are excellent DEMs for Canada, and there is a short chapter in the TransDEM main manual with the web address. Google Earth screenshots are just two-dimensional "photographs" without the slightest clue on elevation.

yes I did the Muengsten" tutorial ,I did not know about google being 2d though.
I will look into finding maps on the web ,

That will not be necessary. I am trying to do the same thing, although on a different area. I used SRTM data to acquire the height elevation. You can process these data directly in TransDem and overlay the 2d map on it, using Google Earth. To tell TransDem where exactly the map is you have to invoke a process called georeferencing. There is a tutorial in the TransDem.pdf file about GoogleEarth pictures and how to georefence them (good for both Zusi and Trainz).
Only problem I still have is that I have to find out how to interpolate the complete DEM as I have only SRTM data with 3 arc seconds resolution to work on.
