View Full Version : It works in TRS2004, but not in TRS2006!

Some time ago I stopped using TRS2006 because I couldn't get my head round CMP.
This week, I thought I'd try TRS2006 again. I started building a new layout which included a loco runaround at a station at the end of the line. Having laid the track for the runaround, I decided to test it before continuing with the layout.
For some reason which I could not discover, it would not work properly. So I went back to TRS2004, and built a simple test track with a runaround, which when tested, worked perfectly.
I then went back to TRS2006 and built exactly the same test track, with junctions and direction markers absolutely identical. When I tried it out in Driver, you've guessed it! It didn't work!

After the loco completed it's runaround and coupled to the consist, it tried to commence it's outward journey by backing up towards the far end of the station instead of moving forward and on to the correct side of the double track!

As I have said, I have checked and re-checked every junction, and it definitely is identical to the TRS2004 layout!

If anyone else has had a similar experience, I would be interested to know about it.

I haven't had this experience, but I'd be interested in seeing the route and also testing it for the upcoming 2009 edition.

Please send a link to www.auran.com/helpdesk and we'll download it and take a look.

Cheers

i would try adding an extra trackpoint in front of the train and then maybe one on the junction and then a third on the correct track, then set it to go via those trackmarks if you're using the AI

Same problem here!
I've issued a runaround train command on one of my routes and had the engine uncouple and just run around but not couple up to the train but just keep going to the end of the tracks right to the end.
And I have some engines that would run around the train and work just fine. Maybe it's in the engine setup files??:hehe:

I'm extremely sorry to tell you that this morning the hard drive that has trainz on has just given up the ghost!

So sorry Tony, I can't send you the route

However, it should be easy to replicate! just make sure both routes (2004 and 2006) are identical!

Hi Ian,
Sorry to hear about your HD.
The only trouble I've ever had with the runaround command in 2006 was through the position of the surrounding shunting signals.
On close inspection I noticed that one of the signals would always be red, although this signal exists in real life, I had to remove it from 06 for the AI's to work.
I haven't tried it, but I guess this problem would also exist in 2004.
Cheers
Pete.
